If you like being a freeloader - dont give anything. What do you think pays for the heat, ESB, communion hosts etc etc  and all other costs that go with the upkeep of a church? I fire them a fiver every Sunday.

£250 a year... generous. I normally throw them £2-£3 depending on what I have in my pockets that morning but I do notice some give notes, some give nothing, suppose it depends on whether you go EVERY week

Real money actually - €uros. Wouldn't make it to mass every Sunday throughout the year with days out in Croker etc ;) but I'd say I'd be at mass probably 3 Sundays a month.

That's the only point of them.

I know that some churches publish who gives what, do any local ones do it?

Slightly off the point but wasn't the old Irish money beautiful - the celtic designs and the pictures of old heroes from our history. Even the coins with the animals on them. The euro has no personality at all - very sterile looking.

Yes, plus a standing order to pay for a new building two years ago.

I'm surprised ye got this many people that still went to Mass to be honest

10% of your wages is what Jesus said.

Know some Prods who'd give that amount. Church of Ireland publish what is given or not given.
