Forwards not even worth rating Bandit??  :) was disgusted not to be able to make the game but was happy enough after listening to it.. The long high ball always troubled Monaghan and that seems to have been exposed again... Ah well, it's not the end of the world, at least the lads have plenty to work from now before June.

shocking result in the Clontibret v Monaghan Harps B game. 9-23 to 4 points.

Heard an excuse that the harps senior manager has a panel of around 24 whome he wont allow play b football.

thebandit

We're taking the Reserve league so seriously that our manager won't let me play A football .....

Mid Mon

The fixtures situation is a joke at the minute.
We have number of players expected to play matches Saturday evening, Sunday afternoon, Monday evening and Tuesday evening.
We also had a match last night and training tonight.

thebandit

Midmon, my good man, I refer you to my previous musings on this topic!!

I cant f**king believe it.

The county Under 21s are in an Ulster final on Saturday at 3:30 in Omagh. They deserve a big support.

There are league games at 7 pm.

You couldn't make it up  >:(

I forgot when I was ranting earlier to give out about the grading only taking place today - B game on Sunday.

I think this sums it all up.

Well all,

What do people think of league fixtures being set for the day after Paddy's day?

After the debacle about the late availability of fixtures, is this a kick in the balls too far for the club footballer?

It show complete lack of respect for the Sem's fantastic achievements this year, and one would expect a big crowd from north Monaghan to head to that game.
There'll be a few from my own neck of the woods who'll be following the mighty Rangers on Paddy's Day as well.

This is the sort of thing that is hardly likely to help attract a young fella with other options to choose our game.

Just heard that the fixtures are to be finalised tonight .... but that they wont be made public for at least a week.

That means we'll only find out who we're playing a week before the first game  ::)

Armagh Exile

Went to a game at Shelagh tonight between Inniskeen and Carrickmacross in the Monaghan League.
Was impressed with the standard of football between two evenly matched teams but the game was spoiled by the referee.
I did not know him but he was, in my opinion as a neutral, the most biased official I have seen in over 50 years watching Gaelic Football.  He never gave the Carrickmacross lads anything and penalised them for things which he let Inniskeen get away with.
By the way Inniskeen won by a goal with the final score being 1-8 to 0-8.

Mid Mon

Any opinions on how this weekend C/ship games will go?
Cremartin will struggle missing Barry Carragher, Ciaran Carragher, Liam Mc Vicker, Micheal Morgan, Noel Boyd and Gregory Flanagan to injury.

Jesus thats a right few men out Midmon. Harps v Corduff should be tie of the round, apart from that there's none that interesting to the neutral, Truagh/Tyholland for the championship IMO.

GrandMasterFlash

I see Clones have drawn another of their local derbies... That's Currin and Eiré Og now and Killeevan beat them... They'll could be doin well to get out of Junior, a lot of teams looking to take scalps out of them.

Any news on the County front, I read in the Monaghan Post last week that Eoin Lennon's makin good progress. Will he make it in time for the first round. Cavan/Down game should be interesting...

thebandit

There's nearly 2 mini-leagues going on in Junior - The Westies (Clones, Currin, Killeevan, Eire Óg) and the mid/south teams

Killevan have started well, apart from that it is wide open, although Currin, Eire Óg, Clones & Aughnamullen would be confident of their chances.

Prediction:
Playoffs - Killeevan, Clones, Currin, Aughnamullen
League - Currin

Championship - Clones (Toome as dark horses)

Mid Mon

them horses must be very dark
