it was the semi final in 2005 not the quarters.  Not aware of the full match but there is courage of it on youtube.

You can buy the DVD of the semi in the GAAStore outside Portadown.  I have been meaning to get it as I didn't see the match myself as was stranded in the wilderness in Tenerife and the only Irish Pub I could find didn't have the correct viewing card to pick up RTE.

In terms of score and general football - good. In terms of atmosphere and tension - unsurpassed.

I cannot see how the latter can ever be bettered because of what happened beforehand.

Totally agree. People talk about feeling an atmosphere, and I felt that day that was almost literally true. I have been at some big games in various sports, but that atmosphere that day was the heaviest (In a positive way) I was ever at.

I have it on DVD as well as both Quarter finals v Dublin and Final v Kerry from 2005. Have 2008 games from quarter final onwards as well, but need to edit them. Haven't had the time to do it yet.

For some reason everyone thinks that match was one of the "best AI finals ever". The semi though was superior in almost every respect as a game of football.

This is often said but I'm not sure. Armagh got quite a few very handy close in free's in the second half from the ref which kept the scores close before the Armagh goal.
