Kavanagh of Kildare at WF is a glaring ommission IMO.
I would agree with thaat!

Lads to be fair, too many Cork lads filled the nest, to be getting this many awards surely? And Before you say theres more to it than AllIreland Finals..............really, theres NOT!!! Pearse O'Neill for one, never got a kick in the all ireland final, he wasnt alone

Well if that's the logic you're working off the only mistake they made was selecting Earley as all the rest of them at least played in the 'only game that matters'. It makes your support for Kavanagh all the more baffling.

Zulu, I meant it in a way that saying Cork had gotten too many awards! Too many no shows in the final should cost you in something like this, it usually does

Apparently Cavanagh couldn't make the GPA team as he had too many commitments with Tyrone seniors and is getting married soon  8)

Maybe it is that way but it shouldn't be, the more games you play the more likely you are to have a bad one, and the further you go in the championship the better the teams you meet which increases the chances of you having a poor game. How can anyone justify giving an All star to a player who played no better than someone else, on the basis that he got knocked out earlier and therefore didn't play poorly in a big game? Most of those Cork players would have been on most peoples team before the AI final so how can they be questioned on the basis of one poor game. By the way Cork only lost by four and were only two down with about 15min to go and there was no score for the last 10min so these players didn't play that badly.

The selection is a joke really. Its a complete non-entity as an award.
