Internet USB dongles

Was thinking of buying one of these but don't know whether to go down the pay-as-you-go route or the contract?
Popular offers are £15 for a 1gb "top-up", or else £15 a month for 5gb limit.
How long does 1gb last you on internet browsing/downloading? - they say 30hrs, but is that purely browsing?
Any recommendations/stay-well-clear-ofs is welcome!

1GB would do grand for just browsing, but would run out fairly quick with any amout of downloading.

Vodafone Ireland do 10GB for €20, dunno where you are though.

My suggestion is to use one where the coverage is excellent everywhere despite the cost; it will be worth it.  I've used virgin broadband over here and when good it is very, very good, but when it's bad....

be carefull which network you go for,i use orange which isn't bad but tried others before that which were bad if you go contract i think you have a 14 day option of returning it if  its crap
