What's the best thing about a hangover?
Keep it decent now folks because I got my knuckles wrapped for my last thread.

Edited to inform posters to keep it decent.

This is the apostrophe police. Please put that apostrophe away.

I always find prevention is better than cure. Pint of water before bed.

Aye that helps surely... but normally when I need the water to help with the hungover, I'm too full to remember to drink it before attacking whatever is left in the fridge and then falling asleep on the couch...

I think it's impossible to avoid when drinking by the gallon.

It's the variables that you could address that may give you a decent chance at minimising it. If you know you'll be on a bender a few days in advance, plenty of sleep beforehand, plenty of water the preceding week and the day before your session, have 2-3 drinks to get the body used to the foreign liquid. Water before bedtime as well as food but that sometimes is impossible if you cannot remember your name.

EDIT: Just realised this is not what the thread is about.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Hangover's what?

Hangover's an example of apostrophe abuse.

Since an apostrophe hanging about where it shouldn't be is 2.7 times more objectionable and about 50 times more common than no apostrophe where it should be, I propose a simple rule that will improve the situation 90%:

Rule 1: If you don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't be deploying apostrophes at all. If you think you need one, you probably don't. When in doubt, which in your case is all the time, leave it out.

For the more advanced practitioner, we can get to 99% compliance by applying Rule 2:

Rule 2: Never use an apostrophe to form a plural. (If you don't know what a plural is, you don't belong in this class and should return to your peer group in Rule 1).
