Another important consideration is the ability for the players to play well in high pressure situations such as All-Ireland finals.
In recent years some of the star Cork and Mayo players have failed to produce decent performances in the All-Ireland final despite playing brilliantly all year and that has gone against them.
Players like Mattie Forde, Declan Browne and Paul Barden have never played in an All-Ireland final so their their big game temperament has never been tested and that's one of the reasons why they'll always be ranked below the likes of Colm Cooper, Peter Canavan, etc.
