Quote from: saffman on June 16, 2025, 10:47:24 AMI belive ballygalget are already safe?

Only 1 up 1 down - no playoff is what I've heard?

In which case ballygalget on 6 cant believe caught by ballycran on 1

Ballycran need to beat both Portaferry and St Endas to stay up

St Endas need to win 1 game to stay up (or balycran failing to win both)

Thats how i see it?

There's three games left for everyone, so we most definitely can be caught.

Ballycran will need to win all theirs starting with Portaferry and with their last game ending in a bit of argy-bargy the Ports may want to be putting down a marker for later in the year.

Crans failed to beat Portaferry tonight so go down which is as well for us as we were pure dung against a much better St Endas team.

The last two rounds of games are meaningless but holy jesus if we continue to be as shit it'll be a dire championship later...

When is the last time ballycran went down? In my memory i cant remember

Glenariffe up

Offers change of scenery for the league

They were poor tonight in fairness. I dont like these boardroom promotions/relegation so I think they need to go down and rebuild. By all accounts they've great numbers and some good hurlers coming through so im sure they'll bounce back.

Don't like the boardroom relegation/ promotions  either. We should  have been down last season by rights. Pretty much the spine of the team from 2 years ago has either gone/ retired or is injured. Mckenna to ballycastle, Kevo- retired, garry lennon- not hurling, Daniel mckernan- injured, caolan mckernan-America. All massive losses and the depth  just isn't there  yet with the likes of jingo and brother daniel mckernan not getting any younger. Some good young lads coming through, but it will just take patience, time and hard work to get back up.

Yea.  Boardroom promotions and relegations to very little for the clubs involved.  I think our current league system is really competitive.  For me all divisions 1-4 are largely competitive and the incoming promotions and relegations from this year I think will only maintain the competitive nature of these leagues.  Hopefully the county board leave things as they are.

Time for Antrim to source both hurling and football managers from within the county. Stop the men coming in with no passion for the county and collection the brown envelope at the end of each month. We need passionate Antrim men involved with both codes at the top. Yes they need their expenses of some incentive to take the team but ultimately not money driven. It happens at club level too and does my head in. Rant over

If the expensive men from down the country don't make a step change in performance then we're no worse off with local men who will be in it for the right reasons and it will be their pinnacle rather than a stepping stone.

Personally I would like to see Mickey McShane take the u20s another year.  Most of the squad they had this year are eligible again.

Could he do both the u20 and the senior?

One thing that does need to be addressed is this practice of 30+ in the senior and 30+ in the u20 pretty much being excluded from playing for their clubs.  It just dilutes the quality of the league.  There are also some teams who could potentially get relegated or miss out on promotion next year because players are not available to them in the league.

Take Glenariffe who are deservedly promoted to Division 1.  I am quite sure they can give it a rattle and establish themselves for a few years.  They could however have 3 or 4 of their top players at county u20- I can foresee that those guys will end up under huge pressure to potentially quit the county for the sake of the club.

Have Dunloy not only one game left?? And would Rossa's aggregate scoring difference in games between both teams see them top no matter the results of this weeks fixtures?

Milltown Row2

Head to head, one each win.. And then I'd imagine its down to the scoring difference overall the games not their head to head.. I'd assume

Though looking at the table, Rossa have one game to play and Dunloy 2? Dunloy must not have a played a game with one of the teams in the bottom half of the table?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Duine Inteacht Eile

I imagine there was a cut off date for getting that game played before the split, so it's probably gone now.

Also, I think the score difference is only between the teams involved?

That's the way I seen the rules posted.
Head to head, then scoring difference in head to head

The table read like this last week:
                        P  Diff  Pts
St John's        11  14  16

Rossa             10  31  14

Dunloy           10  49  14

Ballycastle      11  21  14

So, it was score difference between those on the same points.

Rossa bagged 2 one point victories since last wednesday and would be in the driving seat to take home an All county title.

Which still begs the question How Ta Fúck did we beat them up on the Shaws Road is beyond belief as we have been really poor ever since.

Ports deducted a point for not fielding against the Dall on Sunday. One of the Sands brothers got married the day before and the teams couldn't agree another time/date.

There used to be a £300 fine as well for not fielding, is that still a thing?
