Cushendall who are hot favourites this year beat Dunloy after extra time.

Was some game i hear. Our boys did really well to stay with Cushendall for so long as id expected them not to win that game.

Cushendall are the strong favorites for the minor title this year and have some very talented young hurlers in their ranks.

CCC declined.

Thats interesting!

Armoy well within their rights to try keep game at original time and split the Glenravel support, as many teams would do for their own benefit.
And the county are even relatively generous by speaking to Armoy first before the change.
But ultimately avoiding a club playing two county final fixtures at the same time is just common sense. And I don't think there can be any questioning of it.

Na Glinntí Glasa

When it comes down to it, its not a new thing for a club to be in two finals that have been fixed for the same day.

Truth is no club would accept it being made to play two games on the same day dividing support, families etc having to decide what game to attend if they have family etc playing in both games.

Also no one will want to lose out on gate money! that will be the deciding factor  ;D

There has been petitions in the past when clubs were due to play matches at the same time as others from their club now folk are raging when the game is changed to allow supporters to support both teams. Get on with the game ffs.

No club should be asked to play in two important championship games on the same day regardless of the level.

This is one of things of being different organisations though.

Would club secretary not get details before confirmed on the website and be able to flag an issue?

Where/when was it supposed to be ?

Loughiel at 1pm on the Saturday. Changed last night.

Surely 6:30 Saturday evening in Ballycastle is an improvement on the Saturday lunchtime slot?

If this match is scheduled for 6.30 pm in Ballycastle, it will be dark before the match is finished and there is nothing worse than hurling under lights, especially training lights.

Also I dont think the main pitch in Ballycastle has lights - only the second pitch.

A few weeks ago there was a minor / U20 match played on the main pitch which went to extra time where both teams had to wait until the match on the second pitch had finished so the underage match could be completed on the second pitch.

Bit of a Horlicks that it has come to this.

Regarding the fixture clash, its 2 different associations, the GAA and the LGFA, scheduling both matches, but common sense would dictate a compromise can be reached.

They would of gotten all the proposed dates but until you are in a final you cant actually do anything about it.

The camogie & ladies football sat down at the start of the year and worked out their fixtures between themselves so as to avoid clashes on their end. Sadly they dont all sit down between the GAA, Camogie & LGFA in Antrim to avoid clashes like this.

We have one ourselves now with the Senior Camogie & football finals both set for the same day.

Weather for the weekend doesn't look great, hopefully the winds die a bit.

Wonder will they have learned anything from last year.

More than likely not. Ballycastle will be some fun on Saturday.
