Quote from: JonnyD_ on July 01, 2024, 02:02:52 PMDiv 2 is tough to get out of, however I'd say Ballygalget won't be sitting there too long. i said a few weeks back the league is brutal for clubs with a big county contingent and i think the ards clubs get it tight as they've more missing than most.

no violins though... we all know thats how it works.

Ironically we were hit probably harder with the U20's being out as well due to that elongated Richie McElligott Cup with 3 plus weeks between games for whatever reason...

Div2 won't be a cakewalk either, but that's our level.

Was that the u20 comp Antrim withdrew from?

Sarsfields aren't done yet in Div 2, they need to beat Glenariffe & Loughgiel B, nether have anything to play for (and hope Carryduff don't pick up anymore points)
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

thegladiator

And sarsfields are scheduled a senior hurling  and football match on Wednesday night.  :-X

Yes.

We've a pretty young senior panel and we'd 6 players from that on the Down U20 panel as well as the 4 Down seniors.

We could have more than that on it next year as well!!!

Sarsfields relegated from Div 2

So that's almost it for the league.

Division 1 winners: Cushendall
Relegated: Ballygalget
Division 2 Winners: Carey/Glenarm
Relegated: Sarsfields
Division 3 Winners: Bredagh
Relegated: Ballymena
Division 4 Winners: Gort Na Mona

Division 1/2 relegation/promotion play off: Ballycran v Carey/Glenarm

Division 2/3 relegation/promotion play off: Carryduff v Cloughmills/Creggan/Rasharkin

Division 3/4 relegation/promotion play off: Na Magha v Davits/Ardoyne

Some finish to the division 2 title race ahead on Wednesday night.  When do we think the play off will be played? I remember them being played off prior to championship the last time they took place.

SaffronSports

Do we know the definite tiebreaker criteria? Saffron Gael said it was Carey due to them having better points difference in the games against Glenarm but the Glenarm lads yesterday seemed to think it was straight up points difference?

saffman

Head to head is the criteria

They have beaten each other, so is it down to score difference?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

saffman

Score difference in the games between eachother

Carey by 8
Glenarm by 5

Advantage carey

Score difference with each other or over the league.. That would be a new one for me

Score difference with head to head results

Its been like that for the last few years

If 3 or more teams level on pts then head to head is scrapped and goes to old fashioned pts difference overall

It was like that. I think it changed this year.

saffman

No changes this year, still the same format

At least thats what the county communicated in recent weeks
