Wenger probably about the best but apart from Adebayor and Anelka, thats the biggest net profit from a transfer. Hleb was sold for 600k more than what he was bought. Also lost out heavily on Wiltord and Reyes who were Arsenal's record buys at the time. Henry was only sold for £5 million extra, probably should have been more. Not forgetting the great buys that were Richard Wright and Francis Jeffers. Was Ashley Cole and Gallas a straight swap or was their money involved as well?

He lost 3million on Reyes, Wiltord was expensive but got a few years good service from him. Cashley was £10 million plus Gallas...

So he signed 2 duds in Franny Jeffers and Richard Wright...Just take a look at the players he brought in and made them superstars...

Best manager in the transfer market bar none..Oh and he's managed to do this while being quite successful as well...
There is no I in team, but if you look close enough you can find ME

How much was Pascal Cygan? Stephanovs? Rosicky?

kaba diawarra? Gio Van Bronkhorst? rami shaaban?

All in all he has probably the best record in the transfer market out of current managers in PL

Im not saying that he isn't, im just saying that all managers have had mixed fortunes in the transfer market. Some work out and some don't. Arsene has been relatively successful regarding transfers, but he has bought some turkeys, not just the Jeffers and Wright examples I used before. Arsenal have done well in bringing the kids through, but would this not lie with the Acadamy and not the first team? If they are good enough they will make the breakthrough and learn to play to Arsene's style of play, but the fact that they are so good to make the break through is down to the acadamy as well as the acadamy where they were bought/poached from.

only problem with wenger is hes going backward rapidly, lucky to finish top4 4 this year wont next . a soccer team has to keep buying  to stay still . he has turned arsenal into a selling club. where as the spainish guy seem to buy joblots anf flogthem opn if they dont jump when told ala R keane
