The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Maigheo Abu

I can't say a Dublin - Cork final as predicted a few times gets my hear beating any faster.

A Dublin-Cork final would be massive.
The 2 capital cities facing off! :D

Dunno really. Apart from watchin my own, lot from behind my hands [or sofa when I watch the replay] Tyrone are the team that I would hate to miss. They are the complete package and while people might argue about team of the decade, I d give then best I ve seen. Yeah and I m talking about Spillane, Jacko, Mikey and all. They ve brought the game to a new level that will only be recognised for being so brilliant after the event, as usual.

I can only see Tyrone beat if they lose big players injured - or - Mayo win Connacht, in which case Mayo will make final as they usually do, provided they win provincal final.

Sorry but without retaining their title, winning less AI's than Kerry, appearing in less finals than Kerry, losing to teams like Laois/Mayo etc rules them out of being the best ever

INDIANA

Head to head 3-0. Pretty conclusive to me. How can Kerry be deemed the best of the decade when they've never beaten a particular team in Croke Park?

Jinxy

I dunno why Kerry have such trouble beating Tyrone.
Sure we do it all the time.  ;D

Think the championship is a bit more open this year than is being made out. Someone like Mayo could spring a suprise. They were impressive against Roscommon and have added a bit of scoring potential to the forward line. O'Shea looks the real deal up front. They could avoid Tyrone/Kerry/Cork to the final depending on the draw and after that anything can happen.

Geddawayoutadat. We don't believe in anything can happen in a final in Mayo. We believe in nothing happens in a final.

Please keep that belief :)

Ye'll have an even better chance when we knock out Kerry on Sat though ;)

Mr. Nakata

Looking forward to seeing how Mayo get on against Galway. I'll miss the game as I'll be in Clones, but I hope they do well. I was at the last league game in Castlebar and was impressed with Mayo, young O'Shea gave block Gormley a lot to think about. His goal that day was quality stuff. The procession against the rossies means they can't really be judged until Sunday evening, but I think they'll progress to the quarters as champions and thus avoid Tyrone if we succeed earlier in the day.

That only makes Kerry the most consistent team of the decade but not necessarily the best. 2004 was always going to be a tough year for Tyrone and in 2006 and 2007 they were crippled by injuries. We're already seeing the impact that a few injuries are having on the Kerry team. Imagine how they'd get on without Gooch,Donaghy and Walsh. Tyrone had to cope without the majority of the 05 forward line in 06.

Wouldn't mind seeing a Kerry v Tyrone final this year I have to say. Last 2 have been good matches and there'd be a great build up with the whole hype of the team of the decade to be decided.
As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead

I think it could be the dubs year. Kerry look to be going backwards and Tyrone will beat themselves.

Wasn't last years supposed to be for the Team of the Decade title until Tyrone won it?

Winners in 2000, 2004, 2006, 2007 - losers in 2002, 2005, 2008 - losing semi-finalists in 2001, 2003.....
Tyrone winners in 2003, 2005, 2008 - lost Ulster qtr-final 2000, lost Qtr-final 2001, lost 4th round qualifier 2002 to Sligo, 2004 lost qtr-final to Mayo, 2006 lost Round 2 Qualifier to Laois, 2007 lost Qtr-final to Meath

Kerry have got beaten by Tyrone and Meath and Armagh - only year that they didn't lose to the winners was in 2001....Tyrone have been nowhere near as consistent.

supersarsfields

You could start factoring in the fact that Tyrone play in Ulster compared to Kerry's easier run to the Qtr finals, Plus the head to heads and it's not exactly hard to work out why some people would see Tyrone so far as team of the decade. Not that I would expect you to, to be fair!!

For me if either of the two win it this year then I'd believe they would deserve that title.
