Anyone here apply and actually get a spot in the Dublin Marathon next year?
Nearly everyone I know who entered the ballot didn't get in including myself.

Nope didn't get in, all I seen on social media the last couple days is rejections and maybe 1 or 2 successful.

Armagh Girl

Yes, the Mr of Armagh Girl has received notification yesterday that he has succeeded.  He wasn't too hopeful, but has participated for the past 10 yrs or more.

Apparently there were approx 17000 spots up for ballot (The rest was kept for charities and good for age) but they split them to make sure 50% of the people who got in were first timers.
Seems like an awfully high number, will be interesting to see how many of the first timers actually make the start line when they realise the training involved and how long a Marathon is!
Me and a few others I know who didn't get in are thinking of going to Amsterdam Marathon now instead.

Great marathon but was on a Sunday and we flew back that night!

The beers and Indonesian dinner the night before dint help but it's a flat course!

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

I've Tokyo at the start of March but struggling badly with patella tendonitis! Getting to the start line of these marathons is the tough part!
