What way is this competition being run this year? Groups or knock out or something else?

Its neither groups or knock out. All a bit complicated really, but here you go! Good luck   ;D

I dont know if it is too early for me or what but that is very hard to follow. I did note in it that there is a promotion relegation play off again this year as you said earlier, bit of a joke glad automatic promotion relegation is being brought in next year.
As for this weekend if Down are as lazy/disorganised as Johnny C is saying I would not be surprised if Derry surprised them they are coming off back to back Ulster U-21 titles beating a decent ( on paper) Antrim team along the way. Is there promtion between the Rackard and the Ring competitions?

Reading today's IN Down were not able to field against Limerick in a challenge last weekend in Ballycastle - what's going on there ???

Im not too sure of the excuses given for players not being there but in the end I think they had 15 players who were going to travel up by various means and two of these players were goalkeepers.

Down 3-20 1-22 Derry FT

INDIANA

obviously not training is the way forward!

My Leinster Championship would be , preliminary round
1 Carlow
2 Kildare
3 Longford
4 Louth
5 Meath
6 Westmeath
7 Wicklow
8 Fingal

9 1 V 8
10 2 V 7
11 3 V 6
12 4 V 5

13  9 V 10
14 11V 12

15 13 V14

13 and 14 enter Leinster unless 13 or 14 is  Fingal then the semi-finalist they beat enter .

Leinster proper

1 Dublin
2 Kilkenny
3 Laois
4 Offaly
5 Wexford
6 Antrim
7 Galway
8 Winners of 13
9 Winners of 14

Straight quarter finals  with a play off for the extra team. Unseeded draw too.

The problem with that is what do the likes of Kerry and Mayo do in the Championship if Carlow, Wicklow, Westmeath etc are playing in Leinster?

The divisional way with promotion to and relegation from the Liam McCarthy is the way forward. There will be hammerings but that is always the way in sport.

9 May 2009 Down 3-20 - 1-22 Derry  FT
9 May 2009 Westmeath 2-21 - 3-19 Kildare  FT
9 May 2009 Wicklow 3-09 - 4-16 Carlow  FT
9 May 2009 Kerry 3-11 - 1-16 Mayo
Good win for Kildare, Andy Comerford pushing them on. Good win for Down to, I would like to see them get there act together, good for Ulster hurling if they could.

Donnellys Hollow

Good result to round off a great week for Kildare hurling.
The u21s won the Leinster-A Championship against Carlow on Wednesday night.
Nice to see some progress being made with the small ball in the county.
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

INDIANA

was kerrys win not  a massive result? I would have expected Mayo to account for them easily. Somre result for Kildare. Disaster for Westmeath.

Lecale2

Great win for Kildare alright - even if it did beat my bet.  :(

Not really, Kerry and Mayo always tend to be close with a point or two between them always.

Two of the 4 games decided by a single point and another was a 4 points game with 4 goals and 42 points. Good competitive fare Id have thought.

You still play the tier 2 to 4 cups . This just gives Leinster counties a chance to compete in Leinster.
Infact since everyone is moving around maybe Kerry could compete in a non Galway connaught?
Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.

AZOffaly

That's brutal for Westmeath, but great result for Kildare. Is there any back door in the CR, or are Westmeath done for the summer now?
