What has happened in Galbally?
Community association objecting to club's new development plans at Council meeting? Who owns what up there?

Very strange. Tattyreagh and Carrickmore hurlers got a serious grant off the council as well, fair play to them take what you can get. Are these things more luck with the timing than anything else?

Anyone in the know able to shed some light on Cookstown Under 14's?

I see they got tanked in their first 2 games and have now been conceding games. Had originally entered a B team who are also now conceding so I assume this isn't a numbers issue

Maybe should have been entered in Grade 2 instead of Grade 1 but seems wrong to deny lads football over a few bad games

The Cookstown Dev team withdrew as the majority of players had soccer matching on a Sat am when u14 matches are fixed. CB doesn't seem to allow any moving of fixtures, even with both teams agreeing. As far as I know they have been playing the dev team matches as friendlies on other days.
There have been a few tankings across each grade to be fair to them.

So the parents/players are choosing to play soccer on Saturday morning?

Sure maybe soccer can move their games to accommodate youth Gaelic matches 🤷

Well done St Ciarans. Some serious performances there

Whatever way about it, we should be doing our best to stop young lads having to choose at 13 years old. It appears it didn't benefit our games in the end up.
We can be a proud association and be accommodating to our young people at the same time.
Of course that goes for the organisers of soccer too. A titter of wit from the adults wouldn't go amiss. We're not at war.

Cookstown were county champions at u14 last year, probably was a no brainer to assume they were grade 1 although originally graded at 2 before the Hokey Cokey of club appeals started and grades changed a lot from 1st draft.

Plenty of games have been moved. So I'm not sure why Cookstown couldn't get a game moved.

Dromore played Aghyaran tonight, there have been a few mid week games. Omagh played Galbally on a Sunday.

There are a few games moved, dont know the reasons for the move. I agree Saturday morning at 11am is a disaster for most parents that have lads playing multiple sports.
Living the dream!!!

What is going on with the Under 14 grade 1? Some of the scorelines? Cant be good for young players? How is the grading determined

trueblue1234

U14 is always a bit of a random one as you don't have any real data to grade on. This year definitely got a few bad results. Plus too many coaches too worried about winning things rather than putting their club at the right grading.

Cookstown-Omagh seems to be off on Saturday as well. Not even saying Cookstown are to blame for anything here, don't know who is, just really bizzare

Seen a few clubs with floodlights getting the U14 games on Friday nights or midweek.

Some serious hammerings dished out at boys and girls U14 level. That's no good for either team.

Cookstown doing Cookstown things. Always discontent and dysfunction about them as a club. Hard to know if they will survive in Intermediate this year. Even harder to know where they will be in 5 years time.

Sean Og Patriots

Cookstown will get a few handy pts giving to them this year considering relationships between Cookstown and Greencastle's management for example. That is of course if Greencastle get safe early. Few others as well will give a helping hand to Cookstown.
