Why is there so much money on offer to play summer gaelic in America?  Why would anybody want to pay so much for their team to win an amateur competition in a country that doesnt care about the sport and where there are no obvious rewards?

These are very close knit communities and their clubs are the focal point for most of these communities and a big link to your county at home. People away are 10 times more passionate about their county and wanting to win.

You have guys out there earning fortunes and to be honest on the grand scheme of things 12 thousand dollars isn't a hell of a lot to a lot of the successful guys out there.

As most clubs are linked to a county or area its just the same as the money guys putting into club tyrone over here as you want to see the county do well. Plus its a big deal to get tyrone players etc playing on your team

I wonder what they would give for an aging corner forward with 2 bad knees and a crooked finger. If they gave me 12 I would leave the wife in the morning and go for it

Ryan Mc Kenna has left the Tyrone panel. Mc Namee gone. Added to all the other recent departures. What is going on?

Aaron Boone

Tyrone will still have a good squad and are the forgotten team of the championship. Quarter-finals should be the minimum goal with further progress for next year.

I think Tyrone are a good thing for a quarter final this year.

Strange incident at Omagh Killyclogher game today. KC had a free before half time and went to get ball to hit it quick. Part of omagh management team kicked the ball away to slow game down. The kc player retrieved the ball, shoulders the omagh official to get him out of the way, who subsequently punched the player. The player retaliated and hit him back. The ref sent off the kc player and sent the omagh official to the stand. Have to say, it left a sour taste.

bit of a crazy action all round tommo 2. both individuals hardly covered themselves in glory have a lot of sympathy with the player he was aggresively attempting to get the ball but stepped over the line with his actions as did the omagh official. ref left with no option both deserved what they got, killyclogher will feel agrieved with the sanction but he the player left the ref no option strike and your off, maybe a bit of karma for omaghs no 5 being struck bout 5 mins earlier and the ref chose to ignore it. both teams seriously understrength and reflected in an error strewn contest. wee cup of tae and a sandwich would have sorted out the sour taste.

Omagh/KC was a poor game due to it being starred and the loss of so many top quality players! what way does the county take gate receipts in club games or do clubs get full 100% fees? If county board r gettin a fee from starred games then that shud stop, its there decision to have these games and not only are they affect teams on the field but off the field aswel! If that game was played at an evening time with full quota of player you'd have a brave attendance at it and really make Club football worth watchin and would be talked about all over is club action was competitive wk in wk out! Jst a pity we're losing out on so many more top class games each year!

Is Stevie O'neill playing for CnG this year? Never really see him mentioned in match reports and doesn't feature in scoring charts.

Nothing about mcnamee going to USA. In papers today that its nonsense.

How does a man step over the line when he is being attacked by a reserve manager who shouldn't even be inside the wire? was a act of self defense as the manager struck the player first and went to do it again only the player had to react and defend himself.

Not the first time that the manager has been involved in some hanlon, seems a regular occurrence

Not sure how anyone from Omagh can condone what happened. The KC player acted in self-defence when he was punched. I would have thought Omagh people would have come out strongly against what happened and the player involved, but it seems OSE is condoning the action.

Felt for Sludden because the boy from Omaghs management was way out of line and started the whole thing. Absolute disgrace coming on to the pitch and swinging for a player. Sludden was perfectly correct to go back at him.

However he had to go as it doesn't matter whether its a player or management team you swing a punch (and by God he connected with several) you have to go. Harsh but correct.

As for the omagh fella he should get a years ban at least. Disgraceful and embarrassing not being able to control yourself like that.

Did the KC man not initiate the physical part of this dispute by shouldering the Omagh man?

Played the first few matches of the league alright and they where motoring rightly. Out injured since and their form has dropped a bit without him.

Seen the incident, man from omagh (mcsorley is he?) is a prat. Sludden was just right
