The Bearded One

Lack of referees is becoming a real issue, we have 1 club referee and have tried with no success to recruit another. Despite our best efforts there just isn't the interest in becoming a ref.
It is what it is. Presumably.

It's an old saying but if there isn't any referees there won't be any games

QuoteClubs are facing the real prospect this year of not having enough referees to fulfill a senior and reserve game on a Sunday.  This problem was only avoided last season due to so many reserve games being called off.
Even more reason to start scheduling Reserve games separately...

How much does a ref get per game? Is there a scale based on type of game or is it purely just travelling expenses?

Refs flat rate of £25 for adult and £22 for youth. Regardless of where they travel to

Damien Hagan is taking Moortown this year.

I assume this is Damian 'Scotchy' Hagan and not Damian from the Fianna...

Scotchy Hagan was some footballer in his day, brilliant corner back who had all the skills - he would have excelled in the modern day game whereby backs can attack flat out. He played corner back on 1990, 1991 and maybe 1992 AI U-21 winning teams and played seniors for a few years as well. He could easily hold his own physically despite the fact that he was small in stature and Moortown knew this and he played a lot of club football at 5 or 6 - great footballer...

Think he was with Fr. Rocks for a year or two and is living in Antrim somewhere nowadays.

Yip it's the ex Moortown player Damien Hagan. He lives in Portglenone and was helping John McKeever at Cookstown.

Is 'Damien from the Fianna' not Damien O'Hagan?

That is who I thought. They don't bother with the O's round the lough shore as the "related to" is a given.

What was the result of the Rock versus Brusna replay?
