He was an eejit anyway whoever he was. Sent off 3 Moy lads & 1 Loughmacrory lad. Thought he was going to get lynched at the end! - He must have expected it...brought 2 minders with him!

Cavanagh sent off in club game

TYRONE midfielder Sean Cavanagh was one of four players red carded last night as his club Moy lost by a point at home to Loughmacrory.

The three times All Star had scored two points before his dismissal in the final 10 minutes as his side ended the contest with 12 men. Earlier in the day, Clann Na Gael picked up a narrow win away to Edendork without the services of County duo Brian Dooher and Stephen O'Neill.

The pair, who registered seven points between them in last weekend's Ulster semi-final win over Donegal, were rested due to niggling injuries.

Yesterday's games will be the last featuring county players prior to Tyrone's Ulster final meeting with Monaghan on July 15.

Would have my suspicions on the identity. Some refs seem more interested in creating headlines rather than preventing them.

Fair play to the Clanns. Some clubs woulda horsed the players on out to play.

Every week ( and we're invloved too before somebody points this out ) some referee decides to go on a card fest - last night it was Mc Callion - sending 4 players off - last week it was Mc Namee sensing 6 off at the same time - 3 days before that it was Donal Dorman sending 5 off - STOP THE BUS - WHAT IS GOING ON HERE ? It's time the referees sat down again and had a long hard look at the situation - Sean Cavanagh is NOT  a dirty player - he got the worst of bad manners aganist Kildress in the c'ship and nobody said a word - NOW GUESS WHAT ? He gets sent off himself - now I know that everybody CAN get sent off but come on refs, wise the heads !

amigo

Just because hes Sean Cavanagh don't send him off !! that right orangey

Good win for Galbally yesterday against an Omagh side that looks a pale shadow of the team that reached the county final 2 seasons ago. Omagh lined out with the McMahon brothers Joe at FB and Justin at CHB and Cathal McCarron at CHF. The teams were tied at half time at 0-6 apiece but with Omagh having the wind advantage in the second half you would have thought they would have pushed the home team harder. However it was Galbally who played the better in the second half and ran out comfortable winners, restricting Omagh to a single point in the second half. Omagh's goal coming with the last kick of the game from McCarron, scoring from a free kick at the second attempt. Final score 0-13 to 1-7. Galbally finish the first half of the league with a trip to carmen next sunday.

You cant have it both ways.

On the one hand you want county players protected, the referree has to enforce the rules.

On the other hand in the enforcing of the rules, no county player should have preference or privillage over the normal 5/8th club player.

Although cavanagh is not a dirty player, any player can recieve two yellows for clumsy challenges.

Look on the bright side, if yer man who reffed the Derry  V Monaghan game officiated any tyrone club game, there would be nobody left !

Straight red or two yellows Bensars?

True enough about having it all ways, but common sense should prevail at all times.

with all the bad press referees have been getting lately (some deserved, some not) i would like to compliment a referee  :o :o :o think he's called ....... mchugh from aghayarn/castlederg and he reffed the fintona/killyman game on friday night.sensible approach, let the game flow as much as he could, talked to the players;not the way a teacher would scold pupils but the way a man would talk to another man.the result?players got on with the game, there were not a rake of yellow cards, although killyman no6 got 2 yellows near the end.think if more referees of a supposed higher standard/quality in the county started talking to players and treating them like men there would be less problems with officials
