Quote from: Sean Og Patriots on August 19, 2024, 02:10:44 PMWith the last two games of the league ahead of us. Anyone want to have a stab at who's going to be in this play off, as from where it is ATM its nearly impossible to call. Excited to see this league wrapped up feel like its been going on for a long time.

A long time?? It started late May and finishing now this week! So quite a short time actually! This August schedule is scandulous and not fair on players. Poor players picking up muscle injuries due to fatigue and inadequate recovery time between midweek and weekend games! Not ideal championship preparation..  in fact the quality could be down as a whole due largely to fatique

It's dreadful. Is players will lose first round of championship start of September and won't kick a ball in competition until next May! About 8 to 9 months if you include over 3 weeks of September
Premlin in Ulster pushed that upon us. Unfortunate but so be it.

Hardly much difference on player loads.

Tyrone League May-August. Championship September and October. Play offs October/November. Off season.
I can see why the players have enjoyed 2021 until now a lot more than the previous April start and disasterous schedule that followed where weeks and months passed with no games and no one fit to do or plan anything.

Quote from: clarshack on August 19, 2024, 10:15:16 AMWhy have Ardboe conceded their Minor League 1/4 Final?

Assume they want no distractions from the championship final on Saturday.

What championship Final?

redzone

Grade 1 championship final on this Saturday morning at 11.00. Why in the morning.
One thing I'd love to see are these development squads done away with. A complete waste of time for everyone involved. All it does is overtrain players involved and completely wreck the youth calender in Tyrone

My mistake. I had it in my head they had beat Eglish.

No idea why they didn't field.

Yes

Assuming the winners of the junior championship will come from the top 8 is it those bottom 9 who will form the new 3B next year?

Errigal Ciaran
Tattyreagh
Clan na Gael
Derrytresk
Donaghmore
Brackaville
Brocagh
Killyman
Urney

Tattyreagh played in Division 1 in 2019, that's been some spiral downwards.

Is there a potential for more 3rds teams to join that bottom half? Cookstown, Coalisland, Dungannon, Omagh?

Do away with the development squads and have teams with 20 subs and have a large group of lads getting next to no football. Great Idea!

Its maybe the county development squads redzone is talking about here.

Redzone referring to county development squads, I believe

Onthe40

hes right
clubs and school should be the vehicle to county minors
went to watch one of development squads..more defensive muck..lads at 14-15 being coached to drop back and fill space as opposed to expressing themselves

youth season is a mess... minors still going from January when most teams started training
u16s only 4 games in..will now run to end of year
hurling men going mad as hurling has been pushed back due to football delays...12-14-16s hurling all on at same time, teams can't field as lads focusing on the football running in parallel

Why is the minor championship final at 11am on a Saturday morning, surely it could even have been played in Omagh before one of the club championship games

that makes sense! sorry

Whats the story with the hold up in releasing championship dates/venues?

Surely at this stage it should be known to clubs and players to try and make plans

Sean Og Patriots

Clonoe Vs Edendork tomorrow whoever wins will most likely escape play offs. Il be going to spectate that.
