Anyone know if mckaigue still with Ardboe? If he is it doesn't seem to be working out for them going by last nights performance. In fairness Ardboe were missing lads and Carmen had near enough full team out but never looked like a competitive game from the start

Quote from: Easttyrone23 on June 06, 2024, 04:44:51 AMVery tough to predict who may be relegated this year in div 1. I think the best 16 clubs in the county are in div 1 this year. Eglish have lost their first 2 so they may be in trouble but the likes of donaghmore, Galbally, pomeroy all won their first games and clonoe have 1 win from their first 2 games. Coalisland and ardboe may find themselves down there as well, especially after both losing their first game at home to teams they would have fancied beating. Don't think there will be any standouts at the top of the table as well as the bigger clubs won't want to show their hand until the championship.
Coalisland Clonoe and Eglish be my call for the bottom 3.

Sounds like a good enough call, ardboe seem to be getting a bit of a hammering here by carmen. They might be in difficulty as well.
Ardboe will probably do enough to stay above that bottom 3 but be worrying times going forward. Bringing through some excellent young players - Shea O'Hare, Cormac Devlin, Conor Devlin, Conan Devlin, Jack Martin on top of their base of Michael Cassidy, Michael O'Neill, the Mulgrews and they have Jamie Concannon, Darragh Devlin, Daire McKeown all on the Tyrone U17 team but none of these players are scoring inside forwards and their best forward is currently off managing Derrytresk, and that's ultimately their biggest problem. They will be strong from 2-12 but have a serious problem scoring forward wise. So hard to see where Ardboe go in the next few years, they won't drop of into the relegation picture like Coalisland and Clonoe but can't see them pushing towards the top teams without discovering a scoring inside forward or two.

Word is Ardboe haven't seen Devlin or McKaigue at all this year yet.

Are they still stuck up that gantry in Celtic Park someone needs to tell them to come down.

Whatever about predicting who is going to finish where in the table, I don't think I'd have backed a single winner in those Division 1 games tonight.

Aghyaran look to be the team to beat atm

Division 3
Looks like eskra, aghaloo, drumquin to fight it out. Would fancy aghaloo
First points dropped to Errigal thirds this eveing
Drumquin also dropping their first points with a defeat to Killeeshil

Quote from: Rebel84 on June 07, 2024, 11:38:15 PMPomeroy and Edendork traditionally pick up very few points without their county players. What has changed? Pomeroy in particular lost 3 of their 5 starred games in Division 2 last season.

I don't think there is as big a gap between the top and bottom teams in div 1 as there would have been in years gone by. Edendork and pomeroy still have their main men to come Back and they are 2 from 2. Galbally beat Dromore comfortably without Cormac Donnelly and cripy morris and Conor donaghy going off injured after 10 mins. Donaghmore also getting two good wins as well. There will definitely be a couple of big clubs who may find themselves around the relegation zone come the end of the season. We always talk about having the most competitive championship in Ireland but we without a doubt have the most competitive league in Ireland. Great to see and can be good for the county going forward.

See Beragh beat at home tonight. Bad result. One more loss and they'll have last year's total losses very early in the season.😶

Finished 2nd last season, and they where a clonoe championship win away from playing division 1 this year. Makes you wonder what is going on with them? Although there is the argument that they where maybe pushing above their weight last season.

Stewartstown must be aiming for the all Ireland junior title next year. Lost their first 3 and two of them were against fintona and Naomh eoghan who you'd expect to be around the bottom of the division. Even though they won against Naomh eoghan, When's the last time cookstown were even considered a mid table intermediate team? I can't think of another club who have been relegated and promoted as much as them over the last 10 years or so. Especially considering the quality and numbers they have had in youth football. Then the likes of gortin, aghyaran and Owen roes with a lot less numbers are able to compete in division 2 for years and aghyaran obviously at the top end of the table.

Townie teams innit. Hard to keep them at it.  Don't know what you'll get from one week to the next.

It was always going to be difficult for Beragh to replicate their league form of 2023. Rock could be the surprise team in Div2 this season. Big game for them v Moy coming up.

They must think themselves that they could better it when they went big on the manager budget. I would have thought beragh would be getting better considering their younger players gaining more experience in particular the tyrone u20s

Rock no bad team but getting beat at home by them would be hard justify the spend.

Nothing new if Drumquin are involved I guess
