Still no word on under 21's ? What's happening there ?

KIDDO

Opening games in u21 comp will take place on Tuesday next Aug 14, no fixtures yet as fixtures body  will be meeting tonight to  make all arrangements for these games and the upcoming  senior , junior, and intermediate championships , which will be on the last weekend in August, and the first week in Sept.

glencullrule

what a farce. why not play them every fortnight rather than waitin another 2 weeks and then playin the qaurter finals and semis after other.

Under 21 comp always made a joke of- its valuable football for people who havent made the breakthru to senior level yet and this comp shud command a bit more respect

It sounds as if they just want rid of the under 21 competition - were they not trying to get rid of it at national level cos there was no room for it in the fixtures schedule ?

i beleive back in 2003 they were looking to get rid of it but think managers such as Mickey Harte and Joe Kernan stepped up to say how much they needed and respected the competition. It does sound as if they are trying to get rid of the under 21 comp!

clarshack

would be in favour of getting rid of it. its always made a joke of because it is a joke - sure only half of the clubs in tyrone enter it. how many u-21 players are there at the moment that dont get football through minor, reserve and senior football anyway?  what do people think of the martin mchugh model where minors and u-21's are scrapped and replaced by an u-19 competition?

Hey clarshack see yous have to make the trip to Clann Na Gael on Sunday. How yous going at the minute? Dooher and O Neill unlikely to be playing.
We have Dungannon at home. We always struggle aganist them.

the pomeroy game was the first game where we threw in the towel and never competed. every game up until then we were battling well and a lot of times unlucky to be on the wrong side of the scoreline. i guess the wheels have well and truly come off and would be very surprised if we beat clan na gael even if dooher and o'neill dont play.
