Sick as a dog. We left that behind with a shocking amount of wides. Sludden is another ref who has no clue what the black card is for. Ciaran McGinley should never have been blacked. Sick.  :-\

McGinely was hard done by and he was going well but Peter Harte should have walked at the end of first half for a clear strike. The stewartstown linesman bottled it by not calling Sluddens attention to it. I thought on the whole Sludden didn't do Clonoe to many favours and EC have no one to blame but themselves. Shocking wides.

Clonoe players will be unlikely to miss any championship football as it probably won't be played to August at the earliest

A straight red means the next game in the same competition. Harte would miss the first round next year.

EC as bad as the ref was Errigal kicked it away. Clonoe  acted the tramps after the game roaring at Errigal as they left the pitch. Shameful stuff.

I know. We hit too many wides. Simple as that. That is why I'm so sick. We were the better team and more disciplined but left the shooting boots at home. I would expect nothing else from Clonoe.

Strong words boys: tramps... Expect nothing else.

Errigal were better team on the night and left it behind them.

Sour grapes. I would have thought poor losers starting a field fight at end as the can't take a beating is enough, but. I need for that kind of shite
First on the field and last to leave

I'm no fan of errigal, but it was clearly Doris that started the row at the end. Threw the first two punches.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either

twenty one yard free

Doris went to shake Petey Hartes hand at end of game but harte refused there were words exchanged before punches

I thought clonoe were poor tonight. Their midfield was lost when Doris went off, Stevie mc nulty was quiet, mc aliskey was quiet. Great game for them to win though. The air of invincibility Cassidy is trying to create around them is hardly warranted though. Don't imagine either killyclogher or dromore will be overwhelmed.

Was Cassidy 'upended' at the end of the first half

Just to clarify, suspensions in club football don't carry over to the county so there's no reason for county players to receive special treatment in that regard. As I understand it suspensions picked up in the championship only apply to the championship, so the Doris brothers won't be available against Dromore or Killyclogher in the quarter final. Peter Harte wouldn't be available in Errigal's championship opener next year.

As a neutral at the two games tonight, it was an entertaining, if perplexing evening. Some of the refereeing decisions were strange to say the least. There was needle between Harte and Patrick Doris from before the throw in and it continued off the ball through out the game. The latter was the aggressor but Harte retaliated on more than one occasion.

McGinley's black card was harsh. I didn't think there was too much intent involved. The second black card for Errigal was probably fair- trip. Thought Jerome McClure (pull down on Horisk -I think- towards the end of the first half) and Stephen McNulty (pull down with about 10 minutes left- Harte missed the subsequent free to make it worse for Errigal) were lucky enough to avoid black cards. That being said the rule's stupid and shouldn't be there. Colm Doris can have no complaints about the sending off. It was high and reckless. He was already on a yellow, so even if Sludden had tried to be lenient he was still sent off.

On a more positive note I thought PJ Lavery and Declan McClure were excellent for Clonoe tonight. Ryan T got through plenty of work as well. Errigal just didn't seem to have the composure in the final third to kill Clonoe off in the 20 minutes after half time. The wide tally says it all.

In the first game Eglish trailed 3-0 at one point but had too much firepower for a fairly inexperienced Donaghmore team. Donaghmore had their chances at the end of the first half but hit 4 or 5 bad wides. Eglish were a good deal more clinical. It was good to see Conor McKenna fit to start from a Tyrone point of view and Ryan hit a couple of excellent points when the game was tight.

Looking forward to the games in Carrickmore now. Four well matched sides

Was appalled at Clonoe tonight. First 10 minutes they were a joy to watch had 6 points on the board. They then for some reason sat back and tried to be Donegal for the rest of the half with 13 men behind the ball. Colly Dorris was still on the pitch at this stage. When he got sent off Clonoe panicked. Errigal lacked composure. One time after Micky O'Neill decided to take on half the Errigal team they turned him over and had 2 on 1 where a simple fist pass would have resulted in a goal and probably killed the game. Individual brilliance from Ryan O'Neill saved their skins and the timing of the goal knocked Errigal for 6.

I had a perfect view of the scenes at the end. Harte refused a hand shake from Patrick Dorris. Dorris then said something that made Harte stop and turn. Dorris threw 2 punches before Harte lifted a fist. In my opinion Patrick Dorris was instructed to get under Hartes skin which he did very well from before the first whistle. However this was unbelievibly negitive from Clonoe who have the quality in their squad not needing to lower themselves to those tactics. I'd associate that more with Cookstown the way they played their league games last year.
Living the dream!!!

hugh the root

You can talk about black cards red cards  bad referee missed chances and everything else that goes with it but the harsh reality is Clonoe had more balls than Errigal and I admire Damiem Cassidy for his passion that's why he is there!

good summary bare legs.
Last nights game sums up a lot of the issues I have with the black card.
