I'd say Hippopotamus is fairly high up the list, perhaps in top 2 or 3.
The one in Dublin Zoo certainly has the deadliest fart I have ever whiffed.

Mosquitoes shouldn't really be on this list

They kill 2 million or more a year

As carriers of disease - thats cheating surely:)

But they pass the disease on through biting/stinging

I doubt anyone ever died purely from a mosquito bite. If mosquitoes are on the list then so should sand flies, tsetse flies, assassin bugs, ticks, etc.

Harold Disgracey

I remember reading somewhere, excluding wars etc, mosquitoes have been responsible for more than half of all human deaths.

Puckoon

Im not sure of the order, but they counted down africas top ten deadliest animals on the animal planet a while ago and the humble hippo came in at number 1.

The tussle between humans and animals is not as one-sided as you may think. We count down the top ten deadliest animals .

Since the dawn of man, humans have held sway over the animal kingdom, hunting animals for purposes of food, tools, survival and sport. But animals still do a fair bit of damage to humans, claiming the lives of a more than two million people each year.

So which animals are the worst offenders? It's not the usual suspects. Sharks, whose attacks receive the most publicity, only kill three to four humans a year. The most poisonous animal on earth, the poison-arrow frog, lives deep within the tropical rainforests of Central and South America and rarely makes contact with humans.

Right lads/ladies without researching this can you place the following 10 animals in their rightfull position starting from the most deadliest and work your way down the list...

Scorpion
Dog
Elephant
Hippopotamus
Box Jelly fish
Lions/Big cats
Crocodiles
Snakes
Mosquito
Cape Buffalo

4) Box Jellyfish
5)Crocodiles
6) Dog

9) Big Cats
