Well after today who would you go for? Do this government have a mandate from the people?
Excuse me for talking while you're trying to interrupt me

We would have a Mayo Taoiseach if there was an election tomorrow, no doubt. Even with his sweaty collar he's worth a go.

I'd even have Paul McShane as Taoiseach before any of the current lot.

Have been discussing this a lot lately .Have the others come up with any decent ideas?

However I'm thinking labour.
Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.

Enda ! He's beyond useless .

In the morning Labour would do well. FG would be stagnant enough. Inda is a bellend and most of the Parlimentary party see this but they can't be seen to shaft another leader after Dukes and Brutal. When I saw that Longford's FG deppity, James Bannon, gave Inda his love and support I knew that Inda was lost (Bannon is two ends of a double ditch and, sadly, proves the adage you deserve the politicians you elect).

I would see Labour gaining 10 or so at the expense of Fianna Fáil and Shinners.
FG unchanged
Shinners down one or two to Labour
Greens perhaps unchanged (but they may lose Chemical Cuffe in Dun Laoghaire where a seat has been taken away, depends if FG can get in some more exciting candidate than the dinosaur Barrett)
Independents/Healy Raes/TV mast/singing doctors are hard to gauge

So - it would be FF/Labour again. Gilmore cleverer than Rabbitt in not ruling anything in or anything out.

People are still voting for FF! They put the FF into FFS.

Seeing as practically bankrupting the nation didn't do it I wonder what it would take to change their minds?

Expect SF to surge tomorrow when all the Nordies vote for them.

Despite being a natural FF supporter, and not getting too badly done by the budget (for now anyway), I'd feel it's time for them to go, for their own good as well as the country's. One term in opposition (at least) might sort them out. In that event a strong FG performance is my preference, though I can't really be impressed with Kenny, still he's not the polished pompous bluffer that Gilmore is. Two decades ago we had a Labour leader prone to Dáil tantrums, railing against an ailing FF-led Govt led by two increasingly unpopular figures, and the tide went with them and delivered their best ever result...and they then sent FF back into power with the biggest majority in ages. Fool me once etc. Anyway to cut to the point, I'll go through the ballot paper down to the Labour (or lefty-ex Labour sorts) candidate, and leave their box blank. Can't stand that party at all. The Greens are little better, talking about saving the planet, when they do a fine impression of appearing to occupy another one to the rest of us. Will probably give SF a high preference as I'd know a few of their local crew well, though some of its policies wouldn't be ones I'd be all too keen on. FG it would seem to be then.

Thats not a bad idea. If you hold an irish passport you should be able to vote in elections. Only thing to work out is whether you can pick any constituency to vote in.
The US allow overseas ballots in their elections don't they?

Labour would do well IMO. I think a lot of people have been impressed by Eamon Gilmore since he took charge of the party and indeed would probably see him as better leader material than Enda Kenny.

I think FG would see a surge in support with Richard Bruton in charge - I believe he didn't want the job last time, but is 'up for it' now.
My hands are stained with thistle milk ...

Am sure most people would want Richard Bruton as Minister for Finance.
The drawback is you get Enda as Taoiseach if you vote for that.
FG have lost/shafted most of their top men.
If they had John Bruton Dukes or Yates as leader they would walk it

I'm sure if you went off and set up your own 'Free State Board' no one would object.
