"America's seniors will see a new $6,000 bonus exemption as a part of the Working Families Tax Cut.

That's $93 billion in tax cuts for seniors all over the country"

Senate GOP

Talk about the tone deafness, avarice and greed of the geriatrics. Incredible.

I know he got a second term

If the NY Times had exposed the disastrous policies as they were unfolding, would that have forced Joe and (Border Czar) Kamal to course correct earlier (and possibly not have handed Trump a winning issue)

Trump won because there are massive swathes of horrible people out there who just want a white nation for a white people with whom their financial self interest best lies. But they still want their tacos.

What's your favourite? Hopefully not something boring like pollo.

This is silly nonsense and I don't even like Trump.

"Trump made his largest county gain in the country in 95% Hispanic Maverick County, which swung 28% to the right. Trump also won 97.7% Hispanic Starr County, the most Hispanic county in the country, the first time a Republican won the county since 1892.[6] Harris's 12 counties won was the least for any Democrat in the state (Texas) since George McGovern in 1972."

Is Hispanic america white supremacist now too?

I take no delight in bringing this back. But RedHand88, and Wobbler (Forget about Whitey)... Why do you think I said what I said? This been in the works since 2016.

Paraphrasing a response to a former Renoite how now lives in London in a mixed race famnily....

While it does stress me out, it's deeper than that currently. I'm numb. I've been numb since long before Uvalde. It's a feeling of helplessness and not knowing where to go next. I've lived this shit in Northern Ireland before. The fractured society, them vs us; government collusion into the murders of citizens. I yelled it from the roof tops during trumps first run and first term and all I got was exited from friend groups I didn't really care for. The truth is white Christian Americans, particularly those with money - love this horrible bastard. And they quietly cheer on ICE. It's disgusting. Like I said, I'm numb. I'm tired of all the questions I get from people
Back home, like I'm somehow responsible for it because I live here. It's horrible. Thanks for listening to my rant.

Quietly? Some are pretty open about it. They're the social media equivalent of the Klansmen walking about with the hoods open and their faces exposed. They're not confessing. They're bragging.

Puckoon

Fair, some of them are certainly loud and proud about it.

They live in this alternative world where the truth cannot penetrate. There are so many of them that they form their own communities. They walk around agreeing with each other that climate change isn't real, that Biden lost the 2020 election, that the red states subsidize the blue ones, that gun control doesn't work, and it makes them feel comfortable talking out loud with such nonsense. It's quite jarring to those of us who live in the real world.

DaleCooper

There was a chap on CNN saying ICE arent putting people into ovens....yet.

One of the folks who lives in the real world and not an alternative fantasy world allergic to reason.

Funny. Sounds just like this board. Only their truths are different.

One chap on CNN? Well that settles it then.

Absolute nonsense.

But you are, of course, free to rebut anything you feel isn't true.

Could blue states opt out of being part of the USA? If they are tired of the way the place is being run could they be self sufficient. I know California could be but the rest I'm not sure of
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Hardly come to that. But then again I never thought things would get this bad under Trump.

The right to secede, eh?

Look-Up!

Some serious reputational damage being done by this administration to the country. Will be impossible to undo fully and will have repercussions globally for a long time to come.

A lot of pushback coming too from his own base now and can see a major fracture coming. Ironic that this fracture is only coming because of a perceived threat to the 2nd amendment in the wake of the latest shooting, not the actual murder of citizens. Penny finally dropping to some in MAGA that Trump doesn't give a f**k about anyone and will go after anything that suits his agenda. Very sad that shooting a defenseless woman in the head 3 times is no biggie, even shooting a restrained defenseless man in the back 10 times is no biggie, but the fact that the man had a permit for a concealed weapon, and was criticized for actually carrying, well now that's an outrage.

Big trade deal between India and Europe today. Defense contracts on the table too, only a footnote in the article, but would be a very good time to invest in European aerospace and defense shares. "Governor" Carney up the road also ironing out a big trade deal with China. As the Americans themselves love to say, f**k around, find out.

I understand not. There is no mechanism for a state to leave the US. Could you imagine what Trump would do if a state declared independence?

At the crux of this latest crisis is states rights. As in the right of Minnesota to decline the offer of Federal assistance in 'fighting crime'. This is clearly another centralisation of power to DC without oversight or agreement.

So we are back to the core problem. Where are the classic conservatives in all this? State rights (and free trade) and the general constitution are supposed to be sacred. We await the pushback.
