Quote from: marty34 on April 09, 2025, 10:15:09 PMTrump full of waffle.

Making a fortune for himself and mates over this craic.

Some of his advisors went "icky" evidently and that forced his hand.

In one sense he's made 10% tariffs more palatable for a lot of businesses, although I'd still propose that in a lot of instances it would still be cheaper to pay the 10% than move the business into the US with the much more expensive labour/labor rates....

He said it was a good time to buy, less than 4 hours before he announced the tariff pause. Insider trading, plain and simple. Will he be dinged for it ... not a chance. The wild west!

Once Simon Harris arrived, the US administration had to change their tune.

Supreme Court already ruled that he can't be done for any of his actions as President. He's immune. Him choking on one of his burgers is our best shot.

Job cuts at the US traffic safety regulator instigated by Elon Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency disproportionately hit staff assessing self-driving risks, hampering oversight of technology on which the world's richest man has staked the future of Tesla.

Quote from: johnnycool on April 09, 2025, 04:07:28 PMAnyone understand this Bonds market?

I presume it's bad news for the US when they want to borrow money that no one wants to buy their bonds, pushing up the interest rates and making them more expensive..

Hedge funds sold bonds which drove yields up and prices down. The same thing happened in 2020. I don't know why hedge funds aren't regulated properly.

He is openly bragging about how much he and others in his inside circle made, it was billions, just by manipulating the markets...

That isn't money out for nothing, that's our pension funds etc.

How the American people can not be rebelling against this openly fragrant abuse of power is unreal.

They are protesting but the country is so big it's easy to hush/hide.

Poor Trump,
He's "temporarily" lifted the tariffs on electronic goods coming from China (probably forced to by his oligarch Billionaire mates) yet the Chinese have doubled down and have blocked all shipments of rare minerals to the US...

This isn't playing out how he intended at all.

He played to the base without having the wherewithal to actually invest in the supply chains first before imposing tariffs and has double bluffed himself.

Assuming he can think at all .... did he think China was just another insignificant little Country who'd jump to do his bidding?

I was struck last week by DTs statement on the Masters.

He never misses an opportunity to craft favoritism or stoke divisions. Yet this statement seems so normal, almost presidential... which got me wondering, why? Who he trying to impress with all these niceties about The Masters, The Women's Amateur and of Augusta National... Is he hoping to someday get the elusive invitation for membership? It probably eats at him that that will never happen.

QuoteThe Masters is more than just a golf tournament—it's a tradition unlike any other. Every April, Augusta National becomes the center of the golf world, bringing together players and fans across the globe to witness history in the making.

From the beauty of its famed Second Nine through the Georgia pines to the drama of Amen Corner, the Masters represents excellence, perseverance, and the pursuit of greatness—the very ideals that define our Nation.

As we watch the sport's top players compete for the prestigious Green Jacket, we celebrate the skill, determination, and sportsmanship that make this tournament an enduring symbol of American pride.

I'd also like to congratulate the women who competed in the Augusta National Women's Amateur last weekend. They are some of the brightest young stars in the women's game, who we'll enjoy watching for many years to come.

As the Masters Tournament begins today, I extend my best wishes to the competitors, caddies, staff, volunteers, and patrons for a safe and fun Masters. May the best golfer win, and may all have a memorable week filled with moments that will last a lifetime.

They give up on the war in Ukraine, or Trump waiting on his Master to give the OK on Americans plan, whatever the hell that's supposed to be.

He obviously didn't write that himself, but it also seems completely unlike any of the mouthpieces like Miller or that young weapon of a press secretary who can only spew poisonous, illogical lies.

So he's not going to even try to get that poor El Salvadoran lad back from the El Salvadoran black site, and is also talking openly about disappearing US citizens over there.

And still the red hat lowlifes will cheer him on.

Pure f**king evil and getting more like the 1930s every day.
