2'simple questions

What did Hamas hope to gain by murdering 1200 Israelis and kidnapping 100 Israelis on October 7th?

What exactly did Hamas think the response would be?

The hysterical reaction to those two very valid questions shows me in your heart of hearts you all know that HAMAS (not the Palestinians) flat out wanted to start a war

And when it stated they retreated to their tunnels and left their own civilians to bear the brunt

So what you are saying is that Hamas should have kept taking their medicine, held in a concentration camp with no autonomy, no links to the outside world unless Israel gives express permission, all your food is aid as you are not allowed to develop anything like an existence for yourself because Israel controls everything that comes in and out of your "country" and all the while keep burying your friends and family on a regular basis as Israel takes the notion to shot or bomb them to "mow the lawn".

This was all before October 7th.

Also, you need to review those figures on what happened on that day as the IDF were also responsible for hundreds of Israeli deaths ala the Hannibal directive.

Nevertheless, the manner of the attacks on civilians on October 7th gave an excuse to the Israelis, apart from being wrong in themselves.

It certainly gave them an excuse to commit a genocide in the eyes of the western media, but Hamas aren't in the West Bank, how do you square that circle as they're still getting bombed to shít as well?

The IDF were murdering Palestinians on a regular basis long before Oct 7th, correct?

I was watching the news on the morning of October 7th

EVERY SINGLE COMMENTATOR predicted the following:

Massive ground invasion

Unprecedented number of civilian casualties

End game for Israel-nothing less than complete and utter destruction of Hamas

If every single commentator in TV knew what was going to happen so did Hamas

So again-for the one hundredth time what were Hamas hoping to accomplish by their actions on October 7th? (because they knew 100% what was coming-as did everyone else)

Blaming Hamas for Israei genocide is justifying that genocide... for the 100th time.

Maybe just maybe the Hamas view was take loads of hostages raise awareness and after a lot of bluster we can negotiate with Israel return hostages and get some back in return.

Your points Whitey are valid though on the outcome, it was going to be bad, but what a mostly everyone with a free thinking mind has said that the geocide that has followed is beyond anyone with half a brains comprehension.

Are you familiar with the death of Rachel Corrie who got run over by an Israeli military bulldozer?

I read up about it at the time and the default response by the Israeli military to a "terrorist" attack is to demolish the home of the families of those identified as being involved

I'm not (and I don't know how anyone could) justifying the Israeli response. I'm saying that it's almost 100% certainty that this will be the response.

Militarily Hamas/Hezbollah cannot defeat Israel. Everyone knows that.

So if you can't defeat an enemy militarily , why would you want to start an all out war with them?
