There was a post on twitter from someone saying he was obsessed because he didn't understand how map sizing works so he thinks it's a massive amount of land. It's still quite big relative to here say but obviously not the size it's shown on the maps.

It's probably complete bollox but it made me laugh thinking of people trying to explain how the map works to him

He wants the Panama canal as well...

Hold onto yer hats people, the lunatics have truly taken over the Asylum.

This rules based new world order was always a load of bollox, but now the Trumpmeister is going full on US macho man stuff.

Yep. The "did he really just say that?" shit is already dominating the daily news and he hasn't even taken office yet.

A big part of me just wants to switch off the news and tune out. Is apathy and willful ignorance and avoidance defensible in this day and age?

It's this i want that, I want this, sorta summed up the attitude of all the dumb people who voted him. Still waiting to see his love in with Russia. Round about now, he starting to look like a artist from Austria starting to get up ahead of steam 90 odd yrs ago. Not be long before we see the USA as China and Russia bully boys.

Specifically rare earth metals Musk etc. would like to get their hands on. Lots of bollox from Trump about national security but it's about greed as usual.

Absolutely understandable. I've pretty much stopped listening to NPR already. I'll tune in for science shows and the like, but anything US news-related? I switch it to a music station.

Of course it is. Realistically none of us here can do anything about it anyway, so if it's starting to annoy you why not switch it off.

Just remembered there's a madman taking over an asylum tomorrow.

Not a happy thought.

Democrats have to take lot of the blame here. Biden was a stop gap, never should be entertained for a 2nd term at his age, that was ridiculous. Harris was never suited for it, so they must take the blame for putting them forward. Some NY prosecutor trying to make a name for themselves on Stormy Daniels when Trump should been trialled early doors for the Washington fiasco.

whitey

I think the plan was that Joe was going to sneak in for a second term then cede the Presidency to Kamala-creating history.

Unfortunately/fortunately it blew up in their faces and they only have themselves to blame.

And the NY Prosecutor is an elected Democrat who ran specifically to "get Trump". Imagine Ian Paisley being able to bring a case against Martin McGuiiness and holding the trial in a constituency where the DUP got 80% of the vote. Everyone in here would laugh at the conviction
