Trump isn't interested in policy detail or building up coalitions to win votes. He plays people off against each other in order to win. He doesn't understand politics. He makes promises he can't deliver. He has achieved nothing in 6 months.

He obviously understands politics to the extent that he knows which buttons to push to gain followers in a campaign.

Running a government, putting in the time and effort to understand societal problems and the steps necessary to address them, and the fact that he is only a president, and not a dictator, and thus has to persuade other politicians, is obviously another matter.

Long may it continue!

Trump threatened to cut federal money to Alaska if Lisa Murkowski did not support the Senate healthcare plan. He got his interior secretary, Zinke, to do it. Murkowski is chair of a Senate budget committee that controls Zinkes budget.

Trump is useless

Really? Hpw?

He is far from useless Foid.

No he is dangerous.
What has he done to bring you to this conclusion?

Actually, in addition to my earlier comment, I would say that he IS dangerous in that he doesn't really give a shit about policies and their actual details and effects.

All he cares about are political "victories".

He didn't give a shit WHAT was in the healthcare proposals coming out of congress. All he wanted was to be able to boast about signing legislation and doing a victory dance in the Rose Garden. He did this with the House proposal before denouncing it a couple of weeks later as "mean". He has been all over the place with "repeal and replace only" and "repeal and replace later" and "repeal only", sometimes advocating each within the same week or two. He doesn't know, nor does he care about, the effects of healthcare policy on real people. He justs want to repeal Obamacare for his own ego and to stick it to his predecessor.

He probably hasn't given a second thought to transgender people in his entire life, but suddenly this week, out of the blue, and with no consultation whatsoever, comes out with his military ban, purely to keep his base onside and to placate some members of the House for budget reasons.

One could go on and on...

He is far from useless Foid.

Maybe not useless. He did inherit a stolen Supreme Court seat to fill after all. And he appointed appalling characters like Sessions and Pruitt to set about dismantling vital protections and policies that protect Americans.

But he has been, thankfully, very reduced in overall effectiveness so far. Long may he continue to sabotage himself through disinterest in policy detail and his own ego and paranoia.

Most Romney type conservatives like me are now resigned to Trumps legacy possibly being 2 Supreme Court appointees.  He's more terrible than we ever could have imagined....in fact he's even worse than that.  He may cost us the House and the Senate.   Regardless, it now shows that Third party candidates do actually now have a chance to win......Id love to see Bloomberg run next time out

In order to be dangerous he needs to be effective. He needs to be in control. I don't think he is.

Some real classy people in the White House.
Mrs Scaramucci was 8 months pregnant

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4742894/Anthony-Scaramucci-s-wife-runs-errands-Long-Island.html

The  couple has reportedly exchanged bitter words, with Deidre branding her husband a 'grifter'. Scaramucci, on the other hand, took shots at his wife's intelligence and said he's out of her league, sources said.

Presumably his child is also out of his league

I'd be all over Bloomberg myself. I thought he did a fantastic job, on the whole, in NYC.

Unfortunately, he wouldn't make any headway with most on the right. His pro-gun control work and the large soft drink ban are all that one would hear about from right wing media.

If what the Daily Mail is reporting here is true (??), Da Mooch seems like a classy fellow. His newborn kid is born on Monday and under intensive care, and he waits until the weekend to come home to Manhasset (an hour flight and half-hour drive from DC through LaGuardia) see it (never mind the "congratulatory" text to his wife!). Himself and Trump were made for each other.

Residents in Florida can now object to the contents of school textbooks. Apparently issues like evolution, climate change and islam are what drove this campaign.

For example:

Flaugh says the law, which was signed by the governor on June 26, is intended to make sure scientific theories are presented in a balanced way.

"There will be people out there that argue that creationism versus Darwinism are facts. They're both theories," he says.

Do we need even a single guess as to which party/political stance was behind it? ::)

Teach the controversy! ;D

Acceleration is a liberal conspiracy that doesn't happen in evangelical areas

What's more frightening is that if Trump is impeached and has to resign, america gets Pense from Florida.

The Republicans will probably lose the Senate in 2018. Pence wouldn't get much done.
