Absolutely not

CL stepped in front of a reporter and if you relied on the MSM for your information youíd have thought heíd be up for GBH for that encounter

If Brett Kavanaugh had got on the way Acosta did with a woman the Dems/media would have had a field day.

So Jim Acosta has sexual assault allegations surrounding him too?
yes a woman is about to drop a bombshell on him from his high school days
She doesnít remember the year , the place the time or how she got to party or how she got home , she has no witnesses but just because itís Jim Acosta I believe her wouldnít u

According to the logic of Republican-supporting posters here, the victim in the following case is a liar, "because there's no evidence".

That's Republican logic for you, ie. none at all.

https://www.irishtimes.com/news/crime-and-law/courts/criminal-court/father-who-repeatedly-raped-daughter-is-jailed-for-10-years-1.3686788?mode=sample&auth-failed=1&pw-origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.irishtimes.com%2Fnews%2Fcrime-and-law%2Fcourts%2Fcriminal-court%2Ffather-who-repeatedly-raped-daughter-is-jailed-for-10-years-1.3686788

Nobody is calling the accuser a liar, what we would say is you cannot convict/block someone when the evidence is completely non existent. As used to be the case in the western world until 2018.

That's a load of bullshit. Christine Blasey Ford has been repeatedly called a liar by Republicans. She still hasn't been able to return to work, has had to hire security to protect her and is still receiving threats from Reppublicans.

Now you're admitting you think a convicted serial rapist of his daughter shouldn't have been convicted because "there's no evidence" - except that there is evidence, reams of it.

God f**king help women with people like you around.

Trip Gabriel

@tripgabriel

At an evangelical forum in Iowa in 2014, Matt Whitaker said he would only support judges who have a ĎBiblicalí view of justice, specifically New Testament, which would bar Jewish, Hindu, Muslims or atheists from the bench.

False in that you have had the surgery already?  :P

In all seriousness though, anyone who says this isn't coming to Ireland in the next 10 years has their head in the sand.

In a world where right wing voters can so easily choose their own facts, there's no reason asymmetrical polarization ends in the foreseeable future.

Believe what you want = polarisation
The GAA came out of a polarised era. It was designed to bring people together
It does a pretty good job.
Fox is the opposite.

Hmm, 538 now forecast Dems to pick 38 seats in the House and Republicans to pick up two Senate seats (in a historically bad Senate map for Dems). Really hard to believe that when they were defending Manchin, McCaskill, Heitkamp, Donnelly, Tester, that they would lose only three of them and pick up two elsewhere.

The Blue wave took a long time to materialise, but boy when it did....

Shellacking territory for Trump.

Itís amazing though, since the election weíve had the Sessions/Whittaker shenanigans, his pathetic performance in France, his appalling comments on the California wildfires, and now The NY Times is reporting that all may not be as Trump advertised on North Korea.

Iím sure Iíve left out something ( oh yeah, his petulant response to Michelle Obama and the Jim Acosta stuff).

Thatís in the space of a few days...

I'd say a lot of that behaviour is driven by the realisation that the Dems are now a force to be reckoned with. Apparently now Whittaker is meeting with DOJ ethics officials to discuss possible areas of recusal. This is ridiculous stuff. I don't know what is scarier - the fact that Donald Trump can't even do authoritarianism right, or the possibility that the Republicans might put up someone with the same prejudice and disdain for democracy, except 20 times smarter, come 2020.

J70- whatís the word on the ground in Queens about the new Amazon HQ?

I see the New Democratic Socialist congresswoman is out with the burning pitchforks already.

Can say I blame her......from my vantage point it probably wonít too too much for her constituents (apart from drive them out/drive up their rent)

If Trump could just be contained in the virtual world like social media he might be credible. But his character lets him down in the real world all the time.

Mixed, with an awful lot opposed.

Long Island City has already been undergoing massive gentrification and de-industrialization with thousands of expensive, high-rise apartments being added in the past five years and still ongoing. Personally it has suited me, because I live less than ten minutes drive away and there are nice new restaurants and lovely parks along the waterfront. But, it is putting real pressure on the subway system, especially as they are still doing post-Sandy repairs as well as trying to bring a 1900s-level signal system into the modern era. Then you have the 59th Street Bridge and the midtown tunnel right there too (the bridge is the only non-tolled Manhattan crossing in Queens). Bringing another 25k jobs into a fairly small area will obviously have an impact on top of that. Theyíre also talking about building over the massive Sunnyside rail yards which are very close to the same area, which could bring thousands more apartments as well as additional commercial development. To service all this, the city will have to build new schools and parks, as well as adding transit capacity.

From what Iíve heard, Amazon will begin with a couple thousand workers, perhaps occupying somewhere like the Citibank building which currently has a lot of space. The 25k would be reached within ten years.
