I am putting my current favourites down, as I can't really stick De Niro or Pacino down for their recent work although tend to consider them due to the frequency I watch their more famous movies (just after watching Heat the other night.

Male (a combination of my favourite along with the best):

1) Matt Damon
2) Sean Penn
3) Edward Norton/Kevin Spacey/Denzel

(notable mentions to Philip Seymour Hoffman, Will Smith, Terrence Howard, Pacino, De Niro, Christopher Walken, Liam Neeson, Bradd Pitt, Leo, Morgan Freeman, SLJ, your wee boy in Australia and Jean Claude Vann Damme).

What a Top 3!!!

Female (hard to choose simply based on acting skills, again a list of my favourites who can also act):

1) Halle Berry
2) Cate Blanchett
3) Michelle Pfeiffer

Just change the title of the thread on the sly to top ten, then make out everyone else is stupid for picking three, well apart from nrico who picked about forty

Canalman

1 Steve McQueen
2 Robert Mitchum
3 Seán Penn

Can't think of any female actor to list.

deNiro would have walked on to the list but for his drivel of the last 10 years or so.
