Thanks for that Fionntamhnach, that's cleared up a few of my questions anyway

Yeah thanks Fionntamhnach.  What they had me do was go to services, go to number 4 (system set up) then type 01 and hit select.  This opened a hidden menu.  Then had to select new installation go through that and when it was finished hit the sky button.  After doing this I now have rte, but the woman said there is a problem and until it is fixed we may loose those channels every now and again and to run that fix every time until they have released a patch for it.
