Used to be amazed at the way the Spanish/Italians would get rid of their managers at the first sign of a wobble a decade or so ago. The English league is now the same. About right too. If managers are on seriously obscene money like that, they deserve to be under the threat of the chop constantly. Pity players can't get sacked too.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

According to Sky Sports News, a double team of Avram Grant as coach and Hiddink as Director of Football is top of the shortlist.

Other way about i'd say

Yeah sorry it is the other way about!

Crazy stuff altogether. Just 7 months after sacking Grant despite an excellent record in charge, they get rid of a genuine top manager over a few bad results while still in the hunt for 3 trophies. No decent manager with any sense of pride should touch them with a bargepole. Hiddink or Rijkaard sounds pausible. Was listening to 5live there and a Chelsea fan wanted Steve Clarke or John Terry. He also blamed Scolari was changing the "spine" of the team from English to Portugese and citing the sales of Wright-Phillips and Wayne Bridge as Scolari's biggest errors.  ::)

good point alright.swp reallyjustified the 21 million spenton him and they bought bridge for 7 sold him for 12 not bad for a reserve full back.  thought bg phil may have lasted to the summer and they would have tried get zola.chelski fans would love that.big game in league for them again villa in 2 weeks

Eriksonn hasn't really set the world alight with the Mexico team, could be really good value there.  He likes the London lifestyle so that could be where he'll end up.

Apparently Mancini's ruled himself out but that's no guarantee.  Hiddink's had loads of opportunites to take club jobs over recent years but has always refused so 3/1 is a shit price.  Can't see them going for Grant again either.  Rijkaard or Zola with Steve Clarke I think.

We will know Eriksson's fate in a couple of days.
If they lose against the USA, then it's hasta la vista.

Steve Staunton was saying on Goals on Sunday that he's looking to return to management....
Him at Chelsea and Adams at Arsenal........

Oh, and Zola would be mad to go near it, and so indeed would any credible manager.

From the stories coming out of the bridge it seems Scolari's training & tactical methods were antiquated and relaxed.   How come no-one at Chelsea or the England national team questioned this before he as appointed to both positions?

Well you are not going to hear the players say "we were s*it and the manager can only do so much"...........
"When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us"
