Good performances from Kerkez and Wirtz in addition to Elitike. Salah looked good too with the game stretched due to the early lead. Poor Joe Gomez though. Hope it's a minor knock, as he was playing really well. Two assists in the last couple of weeks as well.

Nice to have a no fuss with very little drama win. Brighton had a few opportunities but Liverpool were comfortable and in control for most of it.
Some finish from Hugo for the first goal. The first touch was almost as good as the finish.

Just need to keep going , top 4 surely is the only aim for the League, plenty of teams around it so need to just keep winning points and not worry too much about exciting football, no frills wins like today will do for now!
Brighton missed a few sitters other teams would have buried. Still gaping holes in defence that they need to sort out.

I didn't get to see any of it but according to Livescore Brighton had the higher xg

I wouldn't call any of their chances sitters. Yeah they had a couple decent chances but credit where credit is due Liverpool deserved to win .
Nordie Tayto is shite

It was a comfortable enough win. There was only maybe five to ten minutes after the first goal where you thought Brighton might have a chance.

Might watch MOTD tonight for a change.

Thought Liverpool were good in the first half but not as much in the second. There was a good high tempo and a good workrate in closing down. Ekitike is looking like a top striker.  Wirtz was very good.  McAllister looked a bit sharper than he has.  Fair play to Chiesa again.  Sits on the bench and must be wondering what he has to do to get more game time, especially given this week with Gakpo out and Salah's behaviour.  In his 15 mins he sets up a few good chances, selflessly squaring to Salah when he had a chance to take the shot on himself. Great attitude.

That's just, like your opinion man.

Just watched MOTD, how the feck was that Brighton fella not sent off for the 6 studs to Wirtz's chest?

Yes, the same scenario as the Man City match last season and Dorku's karate kick.  It's just odd that players get away with this because the ball was somewhere in the vicinity.  Really dangerous and reckless to have the foot that high near the chest.

There was malice in that one. He applied the force after he saw the ball was away from memory.

Dashcam footage showing the moments when Paul Doyle ploughed through crowds at the Liverpool victory parade was the most graphic and distressing experienced police officers had ever seen.
Paul Doyle has been sentenced to 21 years and six months in prison.

That's a fairly hefty sentence

Many have done worse and got a lot less but it probably wasn't through a lack of trying that he didn't do a lot worse.

Seems he was a bad boy in his youth including a 12mth sentence for biting a man's ear off but had lived crime free 30 odd years.

Zero sympathy. Just curious as I'm sure he didn't set out to do it, must have cracked up somewhere along the way

The only rationale, such as it might be, that has been made public (that I can see) for him doing it is that he got angry that the crowds were blocking his path to the city center to pick up his friend. He then he decided he'd go down a blocked-off street anyway and try to drive through them, and then supposedly got scared when people understandly freaked out at him for trying to drive through the crowd.

It's absolutely mind-boggling that a grown man would do something like that.
