That's my point I guess trueblue.

With Liverpool (and others) capable of matching their spending power, perhaps Man City haven't actually been cheating for the best part of a decade. Even if it felt like that throughout, it was (likely) perception over reality.

It usually does take a long time for perceptions to change in football, to be fair. We can get very attached to what we think we know.

I remember one of City's exposees was a sponsorship by a foreign betting company but when someone dug a bit deeper the company didn't even exist. Not sure if that's one of the 115 charges or not

If that's an example of a well run club then so be it

The main suspicions with Man City are their sponsorship deals.
They signed a £140m deal with the Emirates Palace hotel. Not hotel group - it's one single hotel. So it's about 10 times the fair market value.
The hotel just happens to be owned by the Abu Dhabi government.
They don't even get major sponsorship status- they just get to call themselves Man City's official luxury hotel partner.
And this hotel deal is one of around a dozen such inflated sponsorship deals where the owner of the company has a major connection with the Abu Dhabi government or Royal Family.

Reading these  recent comments , leads one to sum up that  behind the scenes , football  is one big cesspit of greed and corruption , and full of dodgiest bastids  imaginable (as  if we didn't know already )

But they  lure us all in  With the jazzy kits ,  flashy stadia and "super Sunday's".

More fool us.

Pablo Escobar and other cartels back in the day heavily invested in their local teams, its a play thing and a way to wash or legitimise money, there is absolutely no other discernible reason you'd spend £80,000,000 (and the rest - wages) on a meat suit like Antony to kick a bag of wind, of course its a cess pit and yes we're mindlessly lured by it, anything to distract from real issues e.g. Palestine

Ah lads, enjoy the games and the banter. Sure every sport has some one and some thing that isn't fair. It's not fair that Leitrim gets less sponsorship than Dublin. It's not fair Dublin get to play important games at home. But GAA fans in the main turn a blind eye to these issues. Why? Because that's just the unlevel ground of sport.

Liverpool's spending has ruffled a lot of feathers.
Was a fella on here back before I took a leave of absence called Maroon Manc who took great pleasure in telling us Liverpool would always be shite because they shopped in Aldi for players while Man United were shopping in Harrods.
Is Maroon Manc still about the place? Be interesting to hear his thoughts now.
Nordie Tayto is shite

You get in there, and make it about Palestine.

That's some train of illogical thought there. You've equated spending money in the transfer market with cheating. That's never been cheating. The 117 charges related mainly to inflating their income figures through phony sponsorship deals.

This is where PSR and the Financial Fair Play rules have a place but not in their current form.

If the Abu Dhabi Government want to pump actual money into a club then why not.
Same for the Newcastle owners.

The issues the PSR and FFP rules were meant to address were owners like the Glazers, Abramovich, Hicks and Co, leveraging debt onto the clubs and then walk off into the sunset, leaving a broken club.

The PL haven't got the balance right but expect changes if they ever do get round to placing charges or penalties on Man City.

Croke Park was never a issue when kerry and Mayo were beating the Dubs. Mayo would put a Brad Pitt in the bed regardless if final was played in Semple Stadium or Croke. Champion for excuses. ;D  ;D
