City ceiling is a good bit higher than Liverpool’s. Liverpool won’t put six past someone like Chelsea, plus City are far more likely to get a result at Old Trafford than Liverpool

Put 5 past Arsenal. Could surely put 6 past someone like Chelsea.

Couldn’t put 2 past Brighton Leicester or West Ham!

Won't be getting any help from Chelsea today anyway...
City showing why they are favourites for the league.

Only if Liverpool bottle it surely?

Thanks Chelsea..... ::) ::)

I was hoping at least one of Arsenal/Chelsea would take a couple of points off City but not to be. Chelsea's capitulation yesterday has more or less given City an extra point because of the Goal difference margin so it means Liverpool cannot lose again. Given we still have Spurs/Chelsea and utd to play I have a bad feeling we will be depending on a United victory over City. Really cannot see City dropping points anywhere else.

Good performance on Saturday but some of those misses were really poor and could have really boosted the goal difference.

Hopefully we'll see a couple of players back to fitness over the coming weeks and that will help us to kick on again. The second choice players didn't step up and grab their chance again Leicester and W Ham but great to see Keita having a decent game at the weekend.  Going to be tough if City get into their groove again and can only hope they might get a bit distracted with the cl and drop a couple of points. But when you're trying to win a league for the first time in 30 years no one's going to hand it to you, obviously.
I'll have a shower and then phone my brother up

A Liverpool Legends team will take on a Republic of Ireland XI, managed by senior team boss Mick McCarthy, at the Aviva Stadium on Friday, April 12, with funds going to the Sean Cox Rehabilitation Trust.

Tickets for the game at the Aviva Stadium on April 12 go on sale via Ticketmaster on Thursday; €20 for adults, €10 for U16s and €70 for families.
Sure it's only the league

Firmino a doubt for tomorrow night.  Gonna be a tough ask with VVD missing as well.

Lovren is out as well according to reports. I don't understand why they didn't bring in an extra defender in the transfer window.

I don’t think the Gomez set back helped things. When the decision was made, Gomez was to be back in a few games, Lovren’s injury was not going to keep him out as long and VVD was only out for 1 games because of suspension. If they’d of brought someone in, they probably wouldn’t even have played...maybe against wolves. You then have a player sitting maybe on the bench who you really don’t need, taking the spot of a young fella who then doesn’t gain any experience etc

Looking forward to the game. There should be no pressure on them at all tonight imo. If they win tonight and the tie overall then great onto the 1/4 Finals. If they don't, then they have 12 games left in a title race.
I'd certainly take a win on Sunday over a win tonight.

Looking forward to tonight's game from an occasion perspective, the atmosphere should be unreal. However I am worried about us defensively as its likley that Fabinho/matip will be the centre halves. While Fabinho was impressive in the league games he played there it is a very different story if you have VVD alongside you against Glenn Murray compared to alongside Matip trying to deal with Lewandowski. I do think we will score but think we will concede at least one  which could make the return leg very difficult.

Sunday is the bigger game as far as I am concerned and it looks like we will be playing Utd with Rashford/Pogba bang in form and their defense playing half decent as well. A point would be a good result as it least it keeps things in our own hands (albeit with Chelsea/Spurs) still to play. I am resigned to the fact that before we play Chelsea Sarri will get the sack and a manager will come in who actually realises that if you play Kante as a DM you will not get hockeyed, making it much more difficult to beat them.
