Important thing is they stuck at it and got the break. There's going to be plenty of days like that, and they just have to keep working it around, making the bus parkers work. United won plenty of games late under Ferguson by sticking to their game plan.

Coutinho injury is worrying, but that's what the squad is for. How long are Sturridge and Lallana out for?

Think lallana was possible for today so hopefully back next game.  Not sure about ds15. Praying that couthinho is a impact injury on a cold day but looks bad.

All in all good result but just ok performance. I thought it was going to be one of those days where passes were overhit and nothing was going to fall.  Origi very good leading the line.  Sunderland offered nothing going forward but o shea was excellent at the back.

Klopp getting the crowd going was great to watch!

Two things to be said on this thread.

1) Steven Gerrard was a world class player at his peak.

2) Jürgen Klopp is a top class manager he has Liverpool moving in the right direction and trophies will be won under his watch.

1) Lies, was never world class, and a bit like Le Tissier didnt' have the cajones to move to a big club to prove it

2) Lost 2 finals already during his short tenure. Five consecutive final defeats counting his Dortmund antics

Not lies and Steven Gerrard didn't need to leave Liverpool to prove he was a world class footballer at his peak. You are entitled to your view that very few would agree with.

Klopp proved his credentials before arriving at Liverpool by winning two German league titles with Borussia Dortmund.

"Antics"?

He lost two of those cup finals to Bayern (and won one against them). Hardly a disgrace given their dominance of German football. And the other German final was lost to Wolfsburg who finished runners-up in the Bundesliga to Bayern that year. Again, hardly a disgrace. And given that the only time that Bayern haven't won the Bundesliga in the last seven years were the two years Klopp beat them, your dismissal of him is either a poor wind-up attempt or just clueless.

With Liverpool, he lost to City on penalties. Would you be singing a different tune had that lottery gone the other way?

Sevilla game - Liverpool were well beaten by a better team on a night when their weaker links were badly shown up.

Liverpool are clearly making good progress under him. The quality of the football has improved dramatically. So have the results. No reason why they won't continue to do so, especially as he continues to improve the squad over the next year.

Main Street

There is a definite added hyperactive element to Liverpool's style of play since Klopp came.
What do they run on? beans? duo expresso?

Advice for Liverpool strikers:

Leave Liverpool

Benteke 5 goals in 11
Balotelli 6 in 6
Aspas 9 in 9

If Sturrridge leaves in January expect 20 in 10

5-6 weeks out for Coutinho

Will be missed, hopefully back for the utd game.

Just read Staunton declared bankruptcy in April, how does this happen?

Coutinho going to be a massive loss. Mane off to African Nations in January also..
Like I said on Saturday the squad suddenly looks very thin. Hopefully he will bring in a few players in January.

I think maybe one pacy, wide player in January will do.... but with Mane out Sturridge and Origi will get their chances so I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp buys no one. Ojo is another who has shown glimpses of talent, maybe he will get the chance when he returns from injury and then there is young Woodburn who looks to have a very bright future.

When is Mane away? Best case scenario is that couthinho is back before he goes but that might be optimistic. Anyway could be worse.  I thought on Saturday it could have been season over

What's the latest with Gomez? Thought he was making shapes for a return a wee while back
