My reading of it is that if Liverpool won there last 8 games and City drew with United and won the rest of the games then both teams would end up on the same points and it would come down to  goal difference, it is therefore in Liverpool's own hands to make sure they have a better goal difference than City in that scenario therefore they do have control over their own destiny.

No. You're forgetting City still have to go to Anfield. If City make one slip up (ie a draw) in any match other than the one against Liverpool between now and the end of the season, eight wins will give Liverpool the title.

Eight wins will give Liverpool 89 points. The current maximum Manchester City can get is 93.

Lose to Liverpool and draw with anybody else and that maximum falls to 88.

If Man Utd don't lose on Tuesday, Liverpool's title fate is in their own hands.

No it's not.
Wrong again  ;D
The gift that keeps on giving  ;D

It will be strange on Tuesday night. If United win, it will be double success. They will dent Citys title challenge and further their chance of making the Europa League.  Heaven!!  ;D

You might want to have a look at that league table again, there.

You are indeed right. I forgot that city and Liverpool played in the run in.

It's in the bag. Get that big open top bus dusted off.

See above. You're going to be cheering for City now. That's not a question.

Triple success, they'll keep Moyes for next season

It's been funny the last few weeks, in the run up to the pool game u could tell they were thinking "oh if we win this we've a chance of 4th" and then between Wednesday and Friday they were thinking "oh if we get Dortmund or Chelsea we could win the CL like Liverpool did"

Ha, ha
Excuse me for talking while you're trying to interrupt me

Nope. United did win the CL ..twice in fact.

You'll be hoping to win your first PL title to catch up with United who won it on their own steam, without a sugar daddy...13 times

the wait goes on.....

You've managed to perform the quite difficult feat there of falling into the trap of believing football began in 1992, while still simultaneously living in the past.

Not so strangely Liverpool haven't managed a title since the back-pass was abolished!  Yawn!

People may say Manchester United are in for a long barren period, but I think their fans should be optimistic of more titles in the years to come.

Ryan Giggs is surely a shoe-in for a CBE at some stage.
