Philippe Coutinho wins the Champions League, which triggers a clause in his contract, meaning Barcelona owe Liverpool another €5m.

5m that will probably be the sealer in signing Thiago from Bayern.

Mad!
No longer the case I believe

Has to win it with Barca. No big odds really in terms of whether the club will or won’t sign Tiago. Would be useful in bringing Phil back on a year loan though as could be set off against a loan fee if Jürgen wanted to

Liverpool sold the rights to a finance house. The add ons were hedged for an up front payment.

If the Thiago transfer was going to happen, I would have expected it to come through some time this week.
I haven't been keeping up with the speculation, but it seems to have gone very quiet.

Rhian Brewster scored twice today. Is he not up to it?

Any reasons given for the absence of Trent and Origi from the two friendlies?
I’d only heard of injuries to Hendo and Matip.

Heard Origi may have Covid 19 but not idea if true.

No idea on Trent but he got called up for England so injury must not be too bad.

Actually just read this on the Echo site...

The ECHO understands the Liverpool right-back has been given his own bespoke fitness regime to work towards as he aims to get back to full fitness this month.

The injury complaint is described as minor, however, and is unlikely to threaten Alexander-Arnold 's participation in the curtain-raiser against the Gunners at Wembley on August 29.

The charity shield didn't go according to plan. At least Minamino got his first goal for the club.
