They didn't strengthen enough at centre back, that's clear. Also Keita next year is great, but is a pity they couldn't force it through for this year. Salah and Robertson are positive buys, and sure we'll see what AOC is made of. Not stellar by any means, but if they hold Coutinho and he knuckles down to make sure Barca come back for him next year, it will be generally a good transfer window.

If they lose Coutinho today, it's a bad window.

If they had signed VVD and Lamar, it would have been an excellent window.
VVD would have been enough to make it a good window. They never submitted a bid though so its not like they actually lost out on him.
I'm surprised they didn't have someone else lined up though.
I'm happy enough with all the other signings .
Salah is already proving his worth and Roberston had an excellent debut .Solanke while probably one for the future also looks like a real talent.
I'm happy enough signing the Ox also.
It would have been nice to sign a centre back. Then again Liverpool have kept 7 clean sheets in the last 9 Premier League games,so maybe it's not as big an issue as we think.
Will be a problem if we start getting injuries though.

its more the depth of defensive cover is the issue though (even though an upgrade on Lovren would be nice too  :-\ )
Matip & Lovren have both missed significant time through injury and while Klavan is ok as cover, you wouldn't want him to have a sustained period in the team., Hopefully Joe Gomez can make the step up.

The whole VVD situation is  strange one.

I think it's a stretch to say they didn't miss out on VVD. They clearly wanted him, and they missed out on him because they ham fisted it.

What i find strange is that they didnt look about anyone else.
Does that indicate they think they can get him in January ?

I understand he was Klopps first choice, but when it become evident that he wasn't going to be allowed to move, there were plenty of other CB options out there.
Howedes being the obvious one.
Spurs brought in that Columbian CB from Ajax as well.

CB was always highlighted as a key area that needed upgrading last season and Liverpool arguably go into this season weaker in that department with Sahko gone and Lucas , who had played as cover there also gone.

I am just hoping Klopp sees big potential in Joe Gomez  :-\

Any good fast CBs further down the leagues?  Aren't they still available?

;D

Where IS the bould Stallion anyway?

He's probably over on the gooner thread spreading doom and gloom
Don't worry he will be back if some of the new signings are not up to scratch

Wait until the first defeat of the season. That'll smoke him and a few others out.

Hopefully he will have too much homework at big school to  appear....

He must have been banned, there is no way he could have stayed quiet through the whole window,

So Coutinho stays....

Some goal from Robertson for Scotland tonight.
