December and Jan will be key time for both Liverpool and Chelsea in the league.  As a betting man I always identify these months as the time that you can back the top teams for wins with more certainty than other parts of the season.  This is in large part I believe due to the period that these teams have no European focus.  As such if the aforementioned teams can still be occupying the top spots they should go on to contest the title.  It will in a way be a case of shoe on the other foot come Jan for Liverpool with two big games against Southampton when the rest are having a break but regardless will be interesting to see the picture come the beginning of February as I believe the titles destination could be greatly narrowed down by then.

Poor performance and missed Matip badly. Anything in the air was causing problems. One of those games un f ortunatrly. Literally milimetres from being 4-1 but lose 4-3. Ffs

Got cocky and sloppy.

Lovren f**ks up a simple intercepting header, leading to the penalty. Origi stands outside the Liverpool box waiting for a ball to drop to him, it gets intercepted, and leads to another goal. Karius spills a fairly straighforward shot, no defender follows up, and Bournemouth have the winner.

They'd won the game twice and thought they were done. Opposition gets their tails up and Liverpool players disappear. Shades of the Palace game in 2014 or Southampton last year.

Boot up the hole, or a sign of fatal weakness?... we'll see.

Mane missed badly when he went off.

Did the commentator really say that Fraser lad cost 400K?

Some impact from him! Man of the Match and he only came on after about an hour.

He was outstanding.  Probably only got game time because of a relatively innocuous injury!

That was a sore one.  The sub Fraser for Bournemouth came on and had a go and caused Liverpool loads of problems. Reminded me of that wee pest Gayle for Crystal Palace in that infamous game. Blowing a 2 goal lead with 15 mins to go is really poor and Liverpool have no right to dream about challenging for the league if they can't see out games like that.  Thought Origi was really poor in the lead up to two of the goals.  Gave away the ball to get caught on the counter and then gets caught waiting for a header on the edge of the square. Missed Mane in the last 15.  The keeper should have had at least one of the goals stopped.  A few of the others at the back didn't manage to snuff out the danger.  Matip missing was a big factor but still, the game should have been closed out.  A big 3 points blown.

That's just, like your opinion man.

The last game they lost was to Burnley back in August so hopefully they can have the same reaction to this defeat.

Very poor from Karius on both goals. That free was easily savable, while the second one, the ball had enough room to bounce twice before the West Ham attacker flicked it. Keeper should have been out.

Needs a break.

This game is there for them though.

Disappointing result again. All of a sudden we are in a top 4 fight instead of a title fight.

Countinho and Sturridge missed, but the team did enough, offensively, to win.

It is the defending/goalkeeping that cost them, again.

I like klavan and Matip as the 2 central defenders. Altogether More altogether

Liverpool weren't at their best offensively today with just 3 shots on target and the 2nd goal was a gift from Randolph.

To me that was more worrying than the Bournemouth game.  Last week was one of those games that every team haso at some point.  Today was poor going forward against a poor West ham team.  Chelsea and arsenal ground out results against better teams over the weekend.

This result and last week unfortunately probably means that we can't afford any more slip ups against teams we should be beating and probably makes matches against the top 4 must win games if we are realistically calling ourselves title contenders.
