I want to send less than £100 to Indonesia.  The bank charges approx. £25 for an international transfer and western union is something similar.

Is there a cheaper way to send directly to a bank account or some sort of money order that doesn't cost the earth to send?

Paypal is not an option btw.

Moneygram are another company.

Are you sure Western Union are that expensive for a fee of £100. Sounds awful expensive. Have you checked with your bank for a "slow" transfer. I remember with Ulster Bank once I tried to transfer money to Germany and it was only €2 slow (took 2 days) or €12 for immediate.

Why dont you just send a cheque?

Stick money in an envelope, address it and put "CASH" on the top of the letter so that the postman will be careful he doesn't misplace it. Job done.

All for the price of a stamp and envelope.
