Ninetieth Minute  14-1

Dunguib 9-2

Neither were favorites but hey don't let the facts get in the way. Anyway favorites or not a winner is a winner. 5 out of 7 is excellent tipping at Cheltenham. Anyone who followed his advice today will be very happy this evening.

Correct.

It could be that Our Nail (the statto/horsie know all) is having a bit of a Cheltenham 'mare'.

Only six races at Cheltenham this afternoon, but four of them are tremendously difficult handicaps, with many of the top English trainers tending towards multiple representation.

The World Hurdle is the Grade One centrepiece and this three-miler is one that constantly eludes Irish trainers.

There hasn't been an Irish winner of the World Hurdle since Dorans Pride justified favouritism back in 1995 under Shane Broderick.

Our current crop of staying hurdlers, with the exception of an absent Catch Me, lacks anything in the form of quality.

Powerstation has run well at previous Festivals and had been supported at big prices for this Grade One before his Maze defeat in February by a horse 20lb inferior on ratings.

He gives the impression of being one of the biggest dodge-pots in Irish racing. He has ability but just doesn't go through with his effort yet seems to excel when running in top company.

Decent ground would be in his favour, but he would want to be at extreme odds to attract, although his placed form around Cheltenham includes a second to Fair Along last November and and a couple of seconds to Black Jack Ketchum in the past.

Against the best French stayer Kasbah Bliss, none of our three runners – Shakervilz, Whatuthink or Powerstation – can hope to emerge on top, even in the battle for places against the likes of Punchestowns and Big Buck's, and this hasn't been a race for outsiders.

Voy Por Ustedes has been a short-priced favourite for the Grade One, two-mile-five-furlong chase since his impressive 14-length romp in the Grade 1 Ascot Chase a month ago. He's twice a course winner here over fences and left-handed is the way he prefers to go.

He's a long way ahead of the best of ours, Schindlers Hunt, which looked thoroughly disenchanted with the game when toiling home in second place behind Carthalawn last month at Naas.

Headed two out and just plugged on at the one pace, he would need to be totally revitalised to be a player here, although, to be fair, better ground compared to those filthy conditions at Naas would be a help.

Tom Taaffe's Finger Onthe Pulse landed a gamble in the Jewson Novice Handicap Chase here 12 months ago and despite a first fence blunder at Thurles in January when he unseated Paddy Flood, looks best of ours in the new race for the Freddie Williams Festival Plate.

Rated 6lb higher in this handicap chase than he is at home, Finger Onthe Pulse has Tommy Stack's Perce Rock to beat.

In the opening Jewson, I'm inclined towards Jaamid as an each-way possibility.

Tony Martin can do little right this year and his lack of fortune continued with Drumconvis in yesterday's opener.

In his current form, it isn't easy to make serious cases for his runners in the handicaps, despite the fact that he uses Ruby Walsh on both Northern Alliance in the Jewson and Green Mile in the Pertemps Final, and Paul Carberry on Clarified in the Freddie Williams Festival Plate.

He has two declared for the Kim Muir – Newbay Prop and Aggie's Lad – but this is a race, a low grade event by Cheltenham standards, that hasn't provided an Irish-trained winner since Greasepaint succeeded back in 1985.

The Pertemps has been won by an Irish runner five times over the last 16 years but P'tit Fute, successful in the Leopardstown qualifier in January off 123, has to race off 150 here as top weight. Hard to fancy in the circumstances.

Green Mile was a 25/1 chance when making some late progress under a 7lb claimer to finish eighth behind An Cathaoir Mor in a Naas handicap last month.

He's 5lb higher here but you're looking for a miracle. It doesn't look a day for the Irish after two brilliant days so far.
