US plane crashes in Hudson river

US airways plane from New York to North Carolina has crashed into the Hudson River.
195 passengers on board.

Survivors are apparently standing on the wings of the plane

Above site suggest birds (geese) took out both engines.

In that event I'd speculate it was 'landed' deliberately on the river. They are only designed to float long enough to get everyone out.

Think that was the case according to US news channels and eyewitnesses, still looks quite intact so hope they all got out.

I just arrived home, commuting from my workplace in NJ back to the city and never heard or saw a thing!

Not a nice day to ditch in the Hudson either - its about -10 celsius where I am, and you can probably take another 10 off that with the windchill coming down that river!
