You can't go wrong over there literally. Where to go for day time drinking depends a bit on where you're staying. At night try Tiger Tiger (The Printworks), good spot. Also the bars around Deansgate Locks are good.

just off Deansgate is a place called Walkabout Inn great spot

Club Revoloution is a good spot and there are some famous people go there...met Joe Calzaghe in it with about 10 of his minders ::) but have to agree with another poster Liverpool is much better
I can swim a little but i can't fly an inch
