With regards to crazy preachers, is it actually legal for these nut cases to stand in the middle of a street with a microphone and loudspeaker and make an awful racket??

If you or I were to stand in the middle of the street playing loud music over a loudspeaker we would very probably be removed by the cops within a matter of minutes!

Are there legal issues or is it a case of a blind eye being turned because it is religion?

I saw a programme about these nutters recently and it was extremely disturbing.

That auld bible is great in an argument as the range of quotes means you can defend any position no matter how mad.

For example if I claimed the bible says Mayo will win finally an all-Ireland by licking their opponents I could quote Proverbs 28:13:

"Be patient and you will finally win, for a soft tongue can break hard bones."

Or if I claimed the bible told me if I wanted to open a ski resort in Bohola all I would need is some mustard and to talk to one of the Alps:
