Yes, particularly funny as the DVLNI actually falls the Department of the Environment, of which Sammy is the Minister.

So in theory he's fined himself?

Only £40? That would be £20 for each of the offences. I've never heard of anyone getting so light a touch from the PSNI. Surely he should have got at least 6 penalty points as well? Presumably if he didn't have tax or MOT, his insurance wouldn't have covered him - was this checked?

Considering my wife was made to walk two miles at 3am by the PSNI to fetch her insurance documents because she was stopped when driving my car and then prosecuted by the same sc**bag for no insurance because the p***k didn't wait around to see the documents he insisted on seeing, Sammy can consider himself very lucky.

That wild Donagh. Surely you're entitled to a week or so to present the documents at a police station? Is that not the normal way of it. Sure most people wouldn't keep their insurnace in their car?

Yeah but she was driving my car at the time, it was after 3am, she'd never been stopped by them before - and he was very aggressive to her. The demand for the insurance came after he'd breathalysed her (she doesn't drink). It got worse after that. She rang to make a complaint the following week and then the cheeky p***k landed down to her house and started giving out to the wee girl that lived with her. The dosey idiot heard the southern accent and assumed he was talking to the wife. When he realised the mistake, he walked away without an apology or anything. Rang the Ombudsman and they said they couldn't do anything because the prosecution was ongoing. Net result, she had to take a day of work to show up at the courts with her insurance before the case was thrown out.

What is the point of being a high profile politician if you cant get a few perks of the job? You would be a mug to think the same rules apply to Joe Bloggs.
