Lar - I'm not sure what you're addressing to me or why. What I posted was intended to make fun of those who seem to think it's reasonable not to wear your seatbelt on short runs. I'm not sure if that's how it read, but that's what I meant.

To be clear, only a lunatic (or somebody who misunderstands the statistics on injuries caused by seatbelts versus those prevented by them)  would not wear a seat belt at all times.

Penalty points are meant to be given for dangerous driving, unroadworthy cars etc, not for something that is essentially a personal safety issue!

Sorry, Hardy, I didn't get my point across well.
I had meant to say that yourself or other Meath posters would verify that the distance I was referring to is indeed a very short one. I was thinking of some of the posts that were put up before mine, where some posters sought to assert that on a short trip seat belts are unnecessary.
I was a bit distracted by thoughts of that accident. Bringing back memories of a past friend, if you know what I mean.
Probably why I just mentioned you and not all Meath  posters was because I had come across a reply you had made to Hardstation on another post. I though it was very funny; maybe I have a warped sense of humour!
But there was no slight directed at you; in fact the opposite holds true. I think you are one of the sharper posters on the board and will always look out for anything you have to contribute.
