Currently loving a nice rouge Cotes de rhone 05, Cabernet Sauvignon.   Loses little for the screwtop around 5.99 a bang, lovely with a wee ribeye.  Would normally like my Shiraz.  and like the Penfolds variety.  Whats hot and not in wines these days?

Find the reds hard going in this weather although the rioja chills nicely. White - Marlborough Sauvignon, the only problem if find with white wine is that its easier to drink than beer.

the 2006 is nicer than the 2007 IMHO, but the 2007 is damm good all the same.

As for Reds, Im currently stockpiling the Rioja, some cracking Gran Reservas out there at about 8 quid a bottle.

also a good gluggable family is Marqués de Cáceres

If you have a Supervalue near you they always have superb wine deals.   Last month they were doing the Yellowtail range for £3.99.   Before that it was the Rosemount range for the same price.  Even Makro can't beat that, although Makro alway have a good wine at buy 12 for the price of 6.
