Jees EOH would be a great ref  :D.

Wonder would he start whinging and shouting at himself every time he blew the whistle :D

The GAA won't listen to any objections over Gearoid O Conamha's appointment as referee for Sunday's All-Ireland quarter-final between Kildare and Tyrone at Croke Park, writes Colm Keys.

O Conamha is a brother of former Galway player Stephen Kinneavy, who lives in Kildare and has been involved in coaching teams in the county in the past.

O Conamha had originally been appointed to referee the Laois/Kildare Leinster final in 2003 but was replaced by Seamus McCormack after pressure was applied on Croke Park that didn't come from the Laois County Board.

However referees co-ordinator Pierce Freaney insisted last night that the decision to change in 2003 would not be replicated six years on, saying: "Gearoid is one of our best referees and the link with Kildare is immaterial to us."

Pierce Freaney's statement on this issue would be more convincing if he wasn't from Kildare himself  :o

One of the privileges of being a Sligoman is that we can't get either of the Duffys at county level. And one of the benefits of being one of the lowest-ranked clubs in said county is that we can't get them either, as they would never stoop to our lowly level, not when they are the supreme authorities on the rulebook, deserving of a higher stage than ours to display their 'talents'. Says it all about the lesser Duffy that the Western today had a pop at him re the Mayo minor final, even when they won! And Marty is all too prominent now, banker for the big day if you ask me, with much regret.

Yet strangely, neither are the worst ref I've come across at county level. Oh no, they aren't even in the same league as a Mr. D. Corcoran from Islandeady in Mayo. Kerry-Tyrone with him in 'charge' would be fun. One common thing between Marty and Corcoran is that they both graduated from ladies football, only they still seem to officiate as if they are still there.

Others who irk me greatly are Michael Hughes, usually screwed us over, Vincent Neary, bitter borderman who has always done us when reffing our teams, Kinneavy, and the clown who did the league final in Longford, near certain he was a Clare ref but I don't think it was Hickey. not that he's much better if it wasn't him.

I wont name names but given your county's record with great players turned ref, I pray that Eamon O'Hara goes into management and leaves the whistle alone.

I thought Kearins was a good ref, was he not? As for EOH, well I think I'll leave it...

Not if you are from Mayo. He was the one we didn't want and always got.

Bannon to get AI this year, its his last at it apparently. :'(

They all say it's their last to try and get a final.

Marty Duffy out then.

How about giving if to O'Connamha to make sure it's his last ?.

O Conamha or Kinneavy is near cert. He is no doubt s****.Galway are gone and Mick Curley, ex all ireland final ref from Galway is top man on Refs committee. Dissapointed Coldrick didnt get more games this year, maybe he was injured or done something mad like getting hitched. Hughes is poor, too fanciful for my liking. Bannon average, Mr Monaghan i.e Pat is top of the pile. Hickey is no good and Deegan has gone off the boil a bit. Joe McQuillan must have fallen out of favour somehow. Duffy is too fussy and too small, he has little presence.

18. No matter how often the GAA tries to t**ker with the rules of Gaelic football, it will have no credibility whilst it still gives high profile matches to any re-incarnation of Gerry Kinneavy / Gearoid O Conmha.

I preferred point 19 and he actually paid heed to it.

He did. He must read the board. I wonder does he post?

O'Connamha today ??? Not one of his better days.

But with regards to his own standards ::)... it really wasn't the worst he's had, was it?

NOT MARTY DUFFY!

Marty might have the final. Heard tonight that Bannon and the "namechanger" Kinneavy/ Conamha are doing the semis, Bannon does Cork/Tyrone and the other man does Kerry/meath. Unless they give it to Pat again?
